Pflegehund Saskia

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 9 months

Saskia, a gentle white female dog, is looking for a loving family in 18198 Stäbelow, Germany. Found on the streets of Romania, she was estimated to be born in February 2026 and is about 27 cm tall and weighs around 6.8 kg. She is friendly, people-oriented, and enjoys attention from her caregivers. Saskia has her own head, knows what she wants, and can be cheeky when food is nearby. She has playful phases and can be overly exuberant, but can also calm down and sleep a lot. She gets along well with other dogs and is already comfortable on longer walks, running ahead or alongside her humans. Saskia needs a loving, consistent companion to help her learn and adjust to life as a family dog. She is a people-oriented little dog who likes to be close to her caregivers. Therefore, her humans should be prepared to gradually build up her ability to be alone with patience and understanding. A home where she can initially be alone for as little time as possible would be ideal. Although Saskia is small, she needs clear rules and loving upbringing to learn to deal with her excitement and find her way in everyday life. A friendly first dog is conceivable, as Saskia is relaxed and tolerant when interacting with other dogs. She enjoys going for walks and shared experiences, but also needs sufficient rest periods. Her future humans should enjoy learning with her, giving her orientation, and accompanying her with patience and loving consistency. We are looking for people with patience, empathy, and perseverance for this little furball - and with the understanding that rescue dogs often bring a certain history with them. How exactly she will react to her new life in Germany can never be fully predicted. But one thing is certain: adopting instead of buying not only gives a second chance to an animal, but also actively decides against animal suffering - and for a life with a very special companion by your side.

In Deutschland seit: Oktober 2026 Auf Pflegestelle in: 18198 Stäbelow Geschätztes Alter: geb. ca. Februar 2026 Geschätzte Endschulterhöhe: ca. 30 – 39 cm Geschätztes Endgewicht: ca. 6 – 10 kg Lerne hier Saskia direkt im Video kennen!

About Pflegehund Saskia

What life with Pflegehund Saskia looks like

Pflegehund Saskia is a small puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Hunderettung Europa e.V. in Duisburg.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pflegehund Saskia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pflegehund Saskia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hunderettung Europa e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pflegehund Saskia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pflegehund Saskia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hunderettung Europa e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Pflegehund Saskia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pflegehund Saskia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hunderettung Europa e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pflegehund Saskia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
