Pony originally was at the Shelter since November 2023, but returned from adoption due to resource guarding. He is an energetic dog who shows appearance and personality traits resembling a Polish Lowland Sheepdog. During walks, he takes care of his business, that is sniffing and exploring the environment. He accepts touch, but we know there are areas where it causes him discomfort, so we are working on desensitizing him, especially since his coat requires regular brushing. Pony becomes friends with a cat (we introduce him using positive methods). He is definitely a dog that requires conscious handling, training and possibly behavioral therapy. Due to resource guarding, he is looking for a home without children, preferably also without other animals. We know that such dogs are a challenge, so we will gladly provide guidance and support you and your new caregiver after adoption in the new home. We believe that after working through the current issues, he will be a friendly dog who can accompany his guardian in exploring the world together. At the Shelter since: November 2023, again since March 2024. Relationship with people: social. Temperament: somewhat reactive. Relationship with dogs: does not particularly tolerate the company of other dogs. Relationship with cats: unknown, possible to check. Relationship with children: due to resource guarding, we advise against adoption to a home with children and other animals. Registration number: P91/2024. Box: 26. Pony pierwotnie przebywa w Azylu od listopada 2023, jednak powrócił z adopcji z powodu obrony zasobu. Jest energicznym psem, który ujawnia cechy wyglądu i charakteru upodabniające go do polskiego owczarka nizinnego. Podczas spaceru zajmuje się swoimi sprawami, czyli węszeniem i eksploracją otoczenia. Akceptuje dotyk, ale wiemy, że są strefy, w których sprawia mu on dyskomfort, dlatego pracujemy nad odwrażliwieniem go, zwłaszcza że jego sierść wymaga regularnego czesania. Pony zaprzyjaźnia się z kagańcem (wprowadzamy go metodami pozytywnymi). Zdecydowanie jest to pies wymagający świadomego prowadzenia, treningu i być może terapii behawioralnej. Z uwagi na obronę zasobów poszukuje domu bez dzieci, najlepiej też bez innych zwierząt. Wiemy, że takie psy stanowią wyzwanie, dlatego chętnie przekażemy wskazówki i wesprzemy Ponego i jego nowego opiekuna po adopcji w nowym domu. Wierzymy, że po przepracowaniu obecnych problemów będzie przyjaznym psem, który będzie mógł towarzyszyć swojemu opiekunowi we wspólnym zdobywaniu świata.
