Quely

Maltese · Female · Senior · 9 years

Little dog heart seeks a caring home. Quely lives in a foster home in Germany. The older lady dog is very loving and lively, but still somewhat shy. Quely shows interest in everything and explores her new world with healthy curiosity. For her age, the sweet little dog is still very playful and also invites to play. Quely is compatible with other dogs and loves life in a pack. Playtime is still very important for the small grandma. Quely also finds a lot of support and orientation among the other dogs. She is currently practicing toilet training diligently and is already making great progress. She walks well on a leash. However, it should be noted that Quely is still very afraid of hands. To reduce stress for Quely, she mostly walks around with a slip lead in the home environment. Also, the basket is still scary for her and needs to be discovered by her first. Right now, Quely prefers to rest and sleep on the carpets. For the active lady dog, we are looking for a final and loving home. It would be nice if it was located in the countryside. A securely fenced garden would be desirable. Quely is looking for people who will give her all the time in the world to settle in and who will meet her with a lot of patience. With enough time and empathy for Quely, the little grandma can overcome her fears and spend many happy years with her people. We wish Quely a home where a friendly pack will welcome her. Her heart also beats for older dogs, and if you can meet Quely's needs, we look forward to your inquiry. Adopting a shelter dog always means taking on a special responsibility and can also become a challenge. The dogs bring along a backpack of past experiences or unlearned situations and need time to adjust to their new life. If you are aware of this responsibility and have a serious interest in adopting Quely, please contact the responsible adoption officer of SALVA Dog Help. The contact details can be found at the end of the text. Here is Quely's video Here is Video 2

About Quely

What life with Quely looks like

Quely is a senior maltese dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Quely, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Quely?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Quely on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Quely if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Quely already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Quely isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Quely and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
