Adopt Ravioli

Mixed Breed · Male

Black fur with magnificent golden appliques, an elegant, athletic build in a convenient size, attentively positioned ears and alert round eyes - our new arrival Ravioli is, as you have probably already guessed, a genuine schnauzer. The cheerful bundle of joy was traveling alone between two villages near Seville, checking the bins and begging quite successfully for affection and treats. Dogs like Ravioli who are friendly and social are easy prey for dog catchers, and so the animal welfare workers in Andalusia try to get these specimens into safe care as quickly as possible. The one-and-a-half-year-old (as of 01/23) male dog was lucky enough that a kind lady found him and immediately contacted Arca Sevilla. Now the lively young pup is at the animal shelter and it's already clear that he doesn't mind this facility with the friendly people, fun fellow animals, regular meals, and dry sleeping places. But a schnauzer like our nice-nosed Ravioli loves variety; these dogs want to work and learn, and an energy bundle like our little gentleman needs someone to guide him and direct his wonderful talents in the right direction - and of course Ravioli wants to be rewarded when he shows his best side. Ravioli is a bright, clever companion, he understands very quickly and would definitely attach himself to a loving person who has enough time to challenge and develop this bright mind, but who also knows how to enjoy a cozy evening on the couch after having exciting days together. Our cheerful stray is obviously open to any career in his young age, from a cuddly dog (not a couch cushion, that goes against Ravioli's active nature) to an agility star, the 40cm tall athlete shows excellent abilities. For schnauzer fans, our teenager is certainly the fulfillment of all dreams, but even for first-time dog owners, the very well-balanced male dog is surely a good choice. We look forward to finding out where Ravioli's journey into his new life will lead... maybe straight to you?

About Ravioli

What life with Ravioli looks like

Ravioli is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ravioli, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ravioli?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ravioli on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ravioli if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ravioli already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ravioli isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ravioli and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
