Rebeca &#8211

Mixed Breed · Female

Rebeca, a German Shepherd-Mix female dog, is one and a half years old (as of April 2025) and ready to find her own family. She wandered alone near a village, and although the friendly neighbors fed her and took care of her, no one could keep her. Eventually, Rebeca was picked up by Arca Sevilla and now lives with a loving foster family. Rebeca is an exceptionally friendly and open female dog who is motivated and curious to explore her environment. She enjoys going on walks, where she examines everything closely. Her open nature makes her a wonderful companion always ready to discover and learn new things. She is always open and interested in her surroundings and the people and animals she meets. The loving female dog plays well and gets along well with other dogs. She can be rehomed as a second dog because she quickly befriends her four-legged friends and enjoys playing with them. Rebeca is also very child-friendly and knows the life in a house. Although Rebeca is patient and affectionate, the two-legged child living in the house should naturally bring a certain stability and sense of humor – Rebeca is still very young and doesn’t always know how to properly gauge her strength. In her foster family, Rebeca has learned a lot and is now well-leash trained. Her impressive progress in a short time shows that she is a clever and eager-to-learn female dog ready to adapt to new living conditions and continue to develop. Rebeca is not only a faithful companion but also a real cuddle bug. She loves being stroked and cuddled and always seeks the closeness of her people. Her affection and warmth make her a wonderful partner who brings joy and love into the lives of her family every day. Now, Rebeca is on the lookout for a loving home where she can express her curiosity, friendliness, and affection. She is ready to give her heart and be a fantastic best friend. If you are looking for a family-friendly and loving dog, if you have a sense of humor and understanding, if you like to be outdoors and aren’t afraid of mud monsters who hop into every puddle happily, then we would be delighted to hear from you about Rebeca!

DE·Show original

About Rebeca &#8211

What life with Rebeca &#8211 looks like

Rebeca &#8211 is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rebeca &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rebeca &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rebeca &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rebeca &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rebeca &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rebeca &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rebeca &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
