Roc

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

♂, born approx. 9/2025, lovable - active - social, in Spain Roc is a Podenco Andaluz male born approximately 9/2025 with a shoulder height of about 50 cm. Roc wandered lonely and abandoned in a Spanish small town. He was most likely abandoned and left to his own devices. Since then, Roc has been eagerly waiting in the refuge for a loving, adequate home and a cozy warm dog bed. The cute and lovable male is now looking for his final happiness, dedicated people who have a lot of time for him, challenge and promote him, teach him the dog basics with calmness and patience, ideally combined with regular visits to the dog school, and integrate him actively into their daily lives, where Roc finally experiences security, love and care. Roc is highly compatible with conspecifics of both sexes. He would be happy to be matched with other socially compatible, confident conspecifics, ideally of similar age and size. A loving home is sought for Roc with active people who have a lot of time for him, as well as a desire and joy in activities with him and discover the world together, because he has probably not yet met much and is not a couch potato. A quiet rural home and environment would be desirable and ideal for him. Cats and/or small animals should not be present in his future home. Roc is neutered, vaccinated, chipped and tested for Mediterranean diseases. He is located in a refuge in Andalusia/Spain. The deposit for Roc is 580 euros. Do you want to give Roc a home? About Roc

What life with Roc looks like

Roc is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. in Berlin.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Roc, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Roc?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Roc on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Roc if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Roc already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Roc isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Freund fürs Leben e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Roc and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
