Rudi 1 Rudi 2 Rudi 3 04.07.2026 We have been in contact for a while and were finally able to take the little heart into the Boxer Nothilfe family. The sweet boxer boy lived in the chaos of Berlin, which was simply hell for Rudi. He was just scared there. Afraid of the constant noise and many vehicles, afraid of the screaming children in the facility opposite and the many people who came towards him. The little one then lay flat like a pancake on the pavement and didn't want to move anymore. Upon arrival at his rural foster home in Jerichower Land in Saxony-Anhalt, Rudi did indeed retreat to the farthest corner of his box at first, but he had to get out. In the relaxed environment it showed relatively quickly: Rudi is not a fear dog, Rudi is very timid, but also very curious. If you give Rudi time, he gathers all his courage and enjoys the attention of his dear caregivers. The little Rudi runs here in the pack, which gives him visible joy and security. Rudi is just sweet and naturally active for his age. He has just turned one year old and still has his whole life ahead of him. Rudi is a clever little fellow, but due to his age he still needs to learn a lot. After the very careful acclimatization, Rudi can safely be left alone for some time. We have wishes for Rudi's new living environment so that the little one can grow into a brave and relaxed boxer. Naturally, Rudi will only be placed in a rural living space with an enclosed garden. As already mentioned, children make Rudi afraid. His people must bring patience and empathy, take the little one completely relaxed to his paw and give him security. In addition, his people simply need to give Rudi time, not immediately drag him into the restaurant or show the new dog to all their acquaintances. It would be really great for Rudi to have a sweet, spayed female by his side. About Rudi

What life with Rudi looks like

Rudi is a young adult dog waiting at Boxer Nothilfe Deutschland in Hiddenhausen.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rudi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rudi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Boxer Nothilfe Deutschland handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rudi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rudi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Boxer Nothilfe Deutschland will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Rudi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Rudi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Boxer Nothilfe Deutschland early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rudi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
