Sansa-6

Dogo Argentino · Female · Adult · 8 years

Hometown: Switzerland Breeding Location: Italy Sansa came to the animal shelter Paradiseli in 2024 because the family situation of her previous owners changed and they were no longer suitable for her. Sansa is a laid-back female dog. She chooses her people herself, to whom you would like to have more contact. She likes her cozy beds, and in the new home, she will probably also enjoy the sofa. However, she does not share it. Outdoors, she is comfortable, which she still finds difficult, especially when it comes to dog encounters where she cannot avoid them. Food is sacred to her, and she would like to do it all day. Unfortunately, she cannot eat everything because she is an allergy sufferer. Sansa does not get along well with other dogs; there, sympathy is key. However, she does not understand small dogs at all. We do not see Sansa living with another dog in the same home. The vet visit and body checks via the shelter staff are not at all to her liking, and she shows this with defensive behavior. Despite medical training, this has not improved much, and Sansa must be sedated for more detailed examinations. In the new home, there must be no children or other pets or dogs. Patience, time, and understanding for her quirks are required. The new owners should be interested in dog training classes based on positive cooperation. The new owners should have experience with challenging dogs and know their needs. Ideally, they should also understand the breed and be willing to work with a muzzle. We would be happy if you clarified this with us beforehand. Please do not fill out the questionnaire but contact us directly:

About Sansa-6

What life with Sansa-6 looks like

Sansa-6 is a adult dogo argentino dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sansa-6, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sansa-6?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sansa-6 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sansa-6 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sansa-6 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sansa-6 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sansa-6 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
