Staśka

American Staffordshire Terrier · Female · Young · 3 years

Staśka is a young, about 2-year-old female dog of American Staffordshire Terrier type. Despite her young age, she has already been through a lot in her life - when she first came to us, she was very scared and it took us some time to gain her trust. Once she realized that nothing bad would happen to her from our side, she revealed herself as a very positively oriented and cooperative female dog. She is the clingy type, for whom the human is the most important. Staśka works very well with a guide and is very focused on it. She reacts to other dogs with curiosity and does not get into conflicts, but unfortunately due to lack of socialization, she is not fully able to communicate with other dogs. We also know how Staśka behaves at home, as she was in a home for several months, but the adoption ended with her returning to the animal shelter. The reason for the return was not her behavior. Staśka has no problem being alone at home - she doesn't destroy anything and takes care of herself outside. During vet visits, she was also well-behaved. She had no problem with riding public transport. The problem that arose and which has already begun to be worked on is defending people and territory against strangers. Once Staśka knows someone, she has no problem letting them into the house. It was possible to introduce a muzzle in which Stanisława walks on walks without any problem. We are looking for a home for her with experience in owning TTB dogs or other large breeds. Responsible people who will never let her down again and will be ready to spend time working on behavioral issues. We recommend her as a single dog. We don't know her relationship with cats. Stasia cannot live in a home with children.

Staśka to młoda około 2 letnia sunia w typie amstaffa.

About Staśka

What life with Staśka looks like

Staśka is a medium-sized young adult american staffordshire terrier dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

Note from the shelter: Territorial guarding behavior with strangers, requires behavioral work and experienced owner. Must be only dog in household. Muzzle trained for walks.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Staśka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Staśka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Staśka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Staśka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Staśka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Staśka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Staśka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
