Adopt TIDŻEJ

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 9 years

Born in 2017 It's time to happily and satisfactorily announce that the previous description of Tidzej is "throwing it in the trash"! Why? Because it is outdated. Our little nervous one, who refused for many months to leave the kennel run, has slowly started going on walks after moving to a calmer place. This was a long, several-month phase of getting used to the leash. Currently, TIDŻEJ has permanently attached harnesses, and the moment of attaching the lead still stresses him, but the walk itself is already a great pleasure. On forest trails, he sniffs excitedly, runs with a joyfully wagging tail (and he has a beautiful coat) and is increasingly responding well to calls and contact with people. On a long leash, he walks without any problems. He ignores runners and cyclists indifferently, but reacts impulsively to other dogs, although by diverting his attention, these reactions can be shortened. After a walk, TIDŻEJ calms down and then becomes willing to cuddle, climb onto the caregiver's knees and play with rubber toys, which he loves. We don't know what kind of relationships with people he had in his previous life before the shelter, but he needed a lot of time to trust again and believe that no one wants to hurt him. TIDŻEJ has already spent his time (first in a municipal kennel run, now in an animal shelter) - two years have slipped away. It's time for him to finally start living normally by a person's side and never again be limited by bars or chains.

Rok urodzenia: 2017 Nadszedł czas, kiedy z radością i satysfakcją możemy obwieścić, że poprzedni opis Tidżeja „wyrzucamy do kosza”! Dlaczego ?

About TIDŻEJ

What life with TIDŻEJ looks like

TIDŻEJ is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze in Zielona Góra.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting TIDŻEJ, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about TIDŻEJ?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw TIDŻEJ on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt TIDŻEJ if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is TIDŻEJ already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if TIDŻEJ isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Bezdomnych Zwierząt w Zielonej Górze early rather than rehoming privately; they know TIDŻEJ and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
