Adopt Tonny

Mixed Breed · Male

Size: Likely to be of medium adult size. Place of residence: Romania Tonny wandered alone around the streets of Romania until our animal rescuers learned of him through kind people and brought him to safety quickly. After a veterinary examination, Tonny is now being lovingly cared for and already shows what a cheerful, curious, and playful young puppy lies within. Tonny loves to explore his surroundings, play with other dogs, and be spoiled by people. His open, friendly nature and charming personality make him a little sunbeam who brings joy to every day. Of course, Tonny is still at the beginning of his life and has much to learn. With patience, love, and a loving home, he will become a loyal companion who loves his family with all his heart. Now Tonny is ready for his own home – who would like to give this little whirlwind a loving home? 💕 Tonny is vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, not yet neutered, and has been checked by a veterinarian, and is in possession of a Eu-Pet Passport. All our dogs travel with official trace papers and Paragraph 11 approval to Germany. Our dogs are additionally tested for Mediterranean diseases via a rapid test. The adoption fee is 500€ plus 30€ for the purchase of safety gear. Note: When we assign our dogs to certain breeds, we base our decision solely on the outward appearance and observable behavior (phenotype). This assignment is made with the best of intentions and knowledge of the club and the involved veterinarians. However, these statements do not necessarily correspond to the actual genetic makeup (genotype), as their reliable determination would only be possible through a DNA analysis. Furthermore, the behavioral and character description of the individual animal is based on careful observations by animal welfare workers on site or by the respective foster homes. It should be noted that these assessments are based solely on the current local conditions in the intake centers or foster homes. This is a young, adolescent dog.

About Tonny

What life with Tonny looks like

Tonny is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Rescued Souls e.V. in Pfinztal.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tonny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tonny?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Rescued Souls e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tonny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tonny if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Rescued Souls e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tonny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tonny isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Rescued Souls e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tonny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
