Yorkshire Terrier Filly

Mixed Breed · Male

Filly is an abandonment dog from the region, as her owner passed away and the family can no longer take care of Filly. We have organized a vet visit, which was urgently needed. We suspect that her owner was no longer in the right condition for it. Her blood test is excellent, her teeth have been brought back to good condition, as well as her ears. These show a bilateral malformation and need to be monitored regularly in the future. A wart on her eye and a small surrounding breeding have been removed. As Filly walks very poorly, a blood flax therapy would be started immediately, which counteracts her arthritis in the knees. Since this shows very good and visible results, we would be happy if the new owners continue with it. She now only receives food supplements, all medications have been discontinued and are not needed for the time being. Filly is visibly blossoming, enjoys every affection and also short walks. She is a dreamy magic mouse, can stay alone, and is house-trained. She knows car rides and enjoys simply being along for the ride. She is the ideal companion for working people or retirees who would like to share their time with a cuddly furred nose. A family with appropriately understanding children is also conceivable. She is also happy to be a second dog, at our shelter she lives with a nice male dog. We can imagine that cats are also no problem. Filly is also looking forward to having sponsors to help cover the previous vet costs and to support her stay with us until she finds a new home. Who would like to enjoy an uncomplicated and cuddly magic mouse at the end of the day and give her a new loving home?

About Yorkshire Terrier Filly

What life with Yorkshire Terrier Filly looks like

Yorkshire Terrier Filly is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Schkortitz in Grimma.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yorkshire Terrier Filly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yorkshire Terrier Filly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Schkortitz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yorkshire Terrier Filly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yorkshire Terrier Filly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Schkortitz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Yorkshire Terrier Filly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yorkshire Terrier Filly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Schkortitz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yorkshire Terrier Filly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
