Lucky je její jméno trochu ironické, protože byla v mladém životě vůbec nešťastná... Jednou byla adoptována z kampu starší ženou, která neměla čas ani ochotu se Lucky postarat – za účelem zábavy vnouče v návštěvách. Když se Lucky stala příliš obtížnou, byla předána bezdomovci, opět bez prostředků se o ni správně postarat. Předávaná dál, Lucky se trochu baví při setkání s novými lidmi, ale můžeme vidět, že velmi rychle se spojí s lidmi, kteří se jí starají. V současnosti tráví čas ve rodinném domě s matkou a dcerou a je dobře péči. Lucky má ráda dítě této rodiny a dobře spolu chodí na procházky. Bohužel ještě nevíme mnoho o Luckyiných zkušenostech s ostatními psy nebo jak by se chovala ve městském prostředí, co ji děsí, co jí dělá radost – ale víme, že další domov, kam Lucky půjde, musí být její navždy. Proto hledáme nyní zkušenou a trpělivou domácnost, která by mohla znovu začít Lucky život, poskytnout jí výběr času a dospívání, které jí chybělo. Lucky je velmi chytrá a učí se rychle, je také (výživně) motivovaná jídlem, takže trénink s ní je příjemný a snadný. Byla předávána bezpočtemkrát, takže se zaměřuje na „svého člověka“ jako na jedinou pevnou věc v jejím životě, proto doporučujeme budoucí rodině začít brzy s tréninkem důvěry a samostatnosti, aby se vyhnula separační úzkosti. Protože v současnosti tráví čas velmi hezky s dítětem ve věku přibližně 10 let, můžeme si představit, že by mohla dobře zapadnout do rodiny s klidným, vzdělaným dítětem. Současně musí rodiče být zkušení a vědomi času a klidu, který bude potřeba, aby přijali psa, který byl opuštěn a předáván mnohokrát – pomalé, stabilní rutiny, opakované aktivity, ujištění z důvěrných věcí bude klíčem pro Lucky, aby začala svůj život znovu. Její výška na ramena je 58 cm a testujeme ji nyní na mediteránní onemocnění.

Lucky's name is quite ironic, as she has been anything but lucky in her young life..... Once living in the campo with an elderly woman who did not have the time nor will to take care of Lucky - for the supposed purpose of the entertainment of the grandchild during the visits. When Lucky then became too much of a nuisance, she was handed over to a homeless person, again without means to properly take care of this young girl. Then Lucky moved around between 2 foster families, both of which left the country, and now she is in the shelter…. She has been living together with children throughout her life, and would make a lovely addition to a family with children in different ages. She bonds with humans really quickly, and is ready to work, train and play with you. As a young energetic girl, once Lucky gets her turn in the free-running dog park which she loves, she runs like a Rhodesian! She concentrates very quickly, reacts on her name and she is easy to work with especially because she loves snacks! Lucky loves to meet other dogs and is very social and playful, now that she has had her first professional socialisations sessions. Her friend in the shelter is Schnuki, a playful young male, and Lucky has also already met a variety of other dogs. She could be a single dog of a family, but in this case we would request from her new family that they absolutely must continue with social canine walks with Lucky, so she can build relationships in the canine world, and continue to develop her communication skills with other dogs. At the same time, she would probably be veyr happy to join a home with a social, playful male dog, perhaps also female, but for the moment she has mainly been tested with males. She loves to go on walks with volunteers and is always happy to see humans. She is intially pulling a bit on the leash, but once she has had enough exercise to let our her energy, her leash-walking improves significantly. For Lucky we are looking for a patient and active home, to restart her life, and even though she is an easy dog in a home environment, then in order to secure that her next home really is her forever home, we do require previous dog experience. Having been passed around countless of times, she does get focused on "her human" as the one constant thing in her life, so we recommend her future family to start early on with confidence and independence training, in order not to develop separation anxiety. As she was recently living with an approximate 10-year old child very nicely, we can imagine she could well join a family with calm, educated children. At the same time, the parents must be experienced, and aware of the time and calmness it will take, to receive a dog into their family that has been abandoned and thrown around many times - slow, steady routines, repeating activities, reassurance from familiar things will be the key for Lucky to start her life fresh. Her shoulder height is 56cm. Lucky is currently positive on Leishmania and receiving medicine, which her forever family would need to still continue until testing negative for Leishmania. Shelter team will always support families while continuing the treatment.
