Imię Lucky jest dość ironiczne, ponieważ w jej młodym życiu była raczej nieszkodliwa... Raz przyjęta do adopcji z obozowej stacji przez starszą kobietę, która nie miała czasu ani ochoty opiekować się Lucky - założenie, by zabawić wnuka podczas wizyt. Gdy Lucky stała się za wiele, została przekazana osobie bezdomnej, ponownie bez środków na odpowiednie opiekowanie się tą młodą dziewczynką. Przekazywana wielokrotnie, Lucky jest trochę nerwowa przy pierwszym poznawaniu nowych ludzi, ale możemy zauważyć, że bardzo szybko łączy się z osobą, która ją opiekuje. W tej chwili przebywa w domu rodzinnym z matką i córką, i jest dobrze opiekowana. Lucky kocha dziecko rodziny i idą razem na spacer. Niestety jeszcze nie wiemy dużo o doświadczeniach Lucky z innymi psami, jak zachowywałaby się w środowisku miejskim, co ją lękliwe, co ją cieszy - ale wiemy, że następne domowe środowisko Lucky musi być jej domem na zawsze. Dlatego teraz szukamy doświadczonego i cierpliwego domu, który zacznie od nowa życie Lucky, da jej czas pupila i okresu nastolatka, który ominął. Lucky jest bardzo sprytne i uczy się szybko, jest również (przyjemnie) motywowane jedzeniem, więc trening z nią jest przyjemny i łatwy. Przekazywana wielokrotnie, ona skupia się na "swym człowieku" jako na stałym elementie w swoim życiu, więc zalecamy przyszłej rodzinie, by zacząć wcześnie z treningiem pewności siebie i niezależności, aby nie rozwijać lęku przed samotnością. Ponieważ aktualnie mieszka w zaledwie 10-letnim dziecku bardzo dobrze, możemy wyobrazić sobie, że może świetnie dołączyć do rodziny z spokojnym, wykształconym dzieckiem. W tym samym czasie rodzice muszą być doświadczonymi i świadomi czasu i spokoju, jaki będzie wymagany, by przyjąć psa do swojej rodziny, który został porzucony i przekazywany wielokrotnie – wolne, stabilne rutyny, powtarzające się czynności, zapewnienie ze znanych rzeczy będzie kluczem dla Lucky, by zacząć nowe życie. Wysokość u ramion Lucky to 58 cm, a aktualnie testujemy ją pod kątem chorób śródziemnomorskich.

Lucky's name is quite ironic, as she has been anything but lucky in her young life..... Once living in the campo with an elderly woman who did not have the time nor will to take care of Lucky - for the supposed purpose of the entertainment of the grandchild during the visits. When Lucky then became too much of a nuisance, she was handed over to a homeless person, again without means to properly take care of this young girl. Then Lucky moved around between 2 foster families, both of which left the country, and now she is in the shelter…. She has been living together with children throughout her life, and would make a lovely addition to a family with children in different ages. She bonds with humans really quickly, and is ready to work, train and play with you. As a young energetic girl, once Lucky gets her turn in the free-running dog park which she loves, she runs like a Rhodesian! She concentrates very quickly, reacts on her name and she is easy to work with especially because she loves snacks! In the shelter we have not yet worked on socialising Lucky with other dogs, as she arrived to the shelter on heat, so that is not a good point of time for canine sessions, but we see that the more dogs she sees and passes by, the less she reacts by barking or getting agitated, so we believe that she is simply lacking positive experiences with other dogs and can potentially live together with 1 or more other dogs, both in the shelter and in ther forever home. We’ll keep testing that. She loves to go on walks with volunteers and is always happy to see humans. She is intially pulling a bit on the leash, but once she has had enough exercise to let our her energy, her leash-walking improves significantly. For Lucky we are looking for a patient home, to restart her life, and even though she is an easy dog in a home environment, then in order to secure that her next home really is her forever home, we do require previous dog experience. Having been passed around countless of times, she does get focused on "her human" as the one constant thing in her life, so we recommend her future family to start early on with confidence and independence training, in order not to develop separation anxiety. As she was recently living with an approximate 10-year old child very nicely, we can imagine she could well join a family with calm, educated children. At the same time, the parents must be experienced, and aware of the time and calmness it will take, to receive a dog into their family that has been abandoned and thrown around many times - slow, steady routines, repeating activities, reassurance from familiar things will be the key for Lucky to start her life fresh. Her shoulder height is 56cm. Lucky is currently positive on Leishmania and receiving medicine, which her forever family would need to still continue until testing negative for Leishmania. Shelter team will always support families while continuing the treatment.
