O nome de Lucky é bastante irônico, pois ela jamais foi sortuda na sua vida jovem..... Foi adotada do campo por uma senhora idosa que não tinha tempo nem vontade de cuidar de Lucky - supostamente para entreter o neto durante as visitas. Quando Lucky se tornou um problema, ela foi passada para uma pessoa sem-teto, novamente sem meios para cuidar desta jovem. Passada de mão em mão, Lucky se tornou um pouco nervosa ao conhecer novas pessoas no começo, mas podemos ver que ela se liga muito rapidamente a alguém que está cuidando dela. No momento ela está em uma casa com uma mãe e uma filha, e é bem cuidada. Lucky adora a criança da família e elas andam bem juntas. Infelizmente ainda não sabemos muito sobre as experiências de Lucky com outros cães, ou como ela se comportaria em um ambiente urbano, o que a assusta, o que a deixa feliz - mas sabemos que o próximo lar de Lucky deve ser seu lar para sempre. Por isso estamos agora em busca de um lar experiente e paciente para recomeçar a vida de Lucky, dar-lhe o tempo de filhote e período de crescimento adolescente que ela perdeu. Lucky é muito inteligente e aprende rapidamente, ela também é (deliciosa) motivada por comida, então treiná-la é agradável e fácil. Tendo sido passada de mão em mão inúmeras vezes, ela se fixa em "seu humano" como a coisa constante em sua vida, então recomendamos que a futura família comece cedo com treinamento de confiança e independência, para não desenvolver ansiedade de separação. Como ela está atualmente vivendo muito bem com uma criança de aproximadamente 10 anos, imaginamos que ela poderia bem se juntar a uma família com uma criança calma e educada. Ao mesmo tempo, os pais devem ser experientes e conscientes do tempo e da tranquilidade que será necessário para receber um cachorro que foi abandonado e jogado por muitas vezes - rotinas lentas e estáveis, atividades repetidas, reasseguro das coisas familiares serão a chave para Lucky recomeçar sua vida. A altura dos ombros de Lucky é 58cm e estamos testando-a para doenças mediterrâneas no momento.

Lucky's name is quite ironic, as she has been anything but lucky in her young life..... Once living in the campo with an elderly woman who did not have the time nor will to take care of Lucky - for the supposed purpose of the entertainment of the grandchild during the visits. When Lucky then became too much of a nuisance, she was handed over to a homeless person, again without means to properly take care of this young girl. Then Lucky moved around between 2 foster families, both of which left the country, and now she is in the shelter…. She has been living together with children throughout her life, and would make a lovely addition to a family with children in different ages. She bonds with humans really quickly, and is ready to work, train and play with you. As a young energetic girl, once Lucky gets her turn in the free-running dog park which she loves, she runs like a Rhodesian! She concentrates very quickly, reacts on her name and she is easy to work with especially because she loves snacks! In the shelter we have not yet worked on socialising Lucky with other dogs, as she arrived to the shelter on heat, so that is not a good point of time for canine sessions, but we see that the more dogs she sees and passes by, the less she reacts by barking or getting agitated, so we believe that she is simply lacking positive experiences with other dogs and can potentially live together with 1 or more other dogs, both in the shelter and in ther forever home. We’ll keep testing that. She loves to go on walks with volunteers and is always happy to see humans. She is intially pulling a bit on the leash, but once she has had enough exercise to let our her energy, her leash-walking improves significantly. For Lucky we are looking for a patient home, to restart her life, and even though she is an easy dog in a home environment, then in order to secure that her next home really is her forever home, we do require previous dog experience. Having been passed around countless of times, she does get focused on "her human" as the one constant thing in her life, so we recommend her future family to start early on with confidence and independence training, in order not to develop separation anxiety. As she was recently living with an approximate 10-year old child very nicely, we can imagine she could well join a family with calm, educated children. At the same time, the parents must be experienced, and aware of the time and calmness it will take, to receive a dog into their family that has been abandoned and thrown around many times - slow, steady routines, repeating activities, reassurance from familiar things will be the key for Lucky to start her life fresh. Her shoulder height is 56cm. Lucky is currently positive on Leishmania and receiving medicine, which her forever family would need to still continue until testing negative for Leishmania. Shelter team will always support families while continuing the treatment.
