Lucky'n nimi on hieman ironinen, koska hän on ollut muuten kuin onnekas nuorella iällään..... Hän oli adoptoitu kentältä vanhalla naisella, jolla ei ollut aikaa eikä tahtoa hoidaa Luckya – toivottavasti lapsen viettoon. Kun Lucky tuli liian vaikeaksi, hän annettiin kotikatoskansalaiselle, jolla ei ollut varoja hoitaa nuoren tytön oikein. Kierretty ympäri, Lucky on hieman pelokas uusien ihmisten kanssa aluksi, mutta voimme nähdä, että hän liittyy hyvin yhteen henkilöön, joka hoidaa häntä. Tällä hetkellä hän asuu perheen kotona äiti ja tyttö, ja hänellä on hyvä hoito. Lucky rakastaa perheen lasta ja heidän kävelykäytäntönsä on hyvin toimiva. Valitettavasti meillä ei vielä ole paljoa tietoa Lucky'n kokemuksista muista koirista tai siitä, miten hän käyttäytyy kaupunkiympäristössä, mitä hän pelottaa, mitä tekee hänet onnelliseksi – mutta tiedämme, että seuraava koti, johon Lucky menee, on hänen lopullinen kotinsa. Siksi etsimme nyt kokenutta ja pitkäntekoitua kotia, joka voi aloittaa Lucky'n elämän uudestaan ja antaa hänelle lasten ja nuorisoikäisen kasvun ajan, jota hän on jäänyt väliin. Lucky on erittäin älykäs ja oppii nopeasti, hän on myös (mausta) ruoka-ohjattu, joten treenit hänen kanssaan ovat miellyttäviä ja helpot. Koska hän on kulkeutunut useita kertoja, hän keskittyy "ihmiseensä" omana jatkuvana asiana elämässään, joten suosittelemme tulevaisuuden perheen alkamaan varhain itsevarmuus- ja itsenäisyystreenien kanssa, jotta ei kehity poisolemassa oloa. Koska hän asuu nykyisin suunnilleen 10-vuotiaan lapsen kanssa hyvin, voimme kuvitella, että hän voisi hyvin liittyä perheeseen, jossa on rauhallinen ja koulutettu lapsi. Samalla vanhemmat tulee olemaan kokeneita ja tietoisia ajasta ja rauhosta, jota tarvitaan, kun otetaan vastaan koira, joka on jäädytetty ja heitetty ympäriin monta kertaa – hitaat, vakautuvat ruunit, toistuvat aktiviteetit ja turvaaminen tutuilla asioilla ovat avaimena Luckylle aloittaa elämä uudella tavalla. Hänen hartiotason korkeutensa on 58 cm ja me testaamme nykyisin mediteraanisia sairauksia.

Lucky's name is quite ironic, as she has been anything but lucky in her young life..... Once living in the campo with an elderly woman who did not have the time nor will to take care of Lucky - for the supposed purpose of the entertainment of the grandchild during the visits. When Lucky then became too much of a nuisance, she was handed over to a homeless person, again without means to properly take care of this young girl. Then Lucky moved around between 2 foster families, both of which left the country, and now she is in the shelter…. She has been living together with children throughout her life, and would make a lovely addition to a family with children in different ages. She bonds with humans really quickly, and is ready to work, train and play with you. As a young energetic girl, once Lucky gets her turn in the free-running dog park which she loves, she runs like a Rhodesian! She concentrates very quickly, reacts on her name and she is easy to work with especially because she loves snacks! In the shelter we have not yet worked on socialising Lucky with other dogs, as she arrived to the shelter on heat, so that is not a good point of time for canine sessions, but we see that the more dogs she sees and passes by, the less she reacts by barking or getting agitated, so we believe that she is simply lacking positive experiences with other dogs and can potentially live together with 1 or more other dogs, both in the shelter and in ther forever home. We’ll keep testing that. She loves to go on walks with volunteers and is always happy to see humans. She is intially pulling a bit on the leash, but once she has had enough exercise to let our her energy, her leash-walking improves significantly. For Lucky we are looking for a patient home, to restart her life, and even though she is an easy dog in a home environment, then in order to secure that her next home really is her forever home, we do require previous dog experience. Having been passed around countless of times, she does get focused on "her human" as the one constant thing in her life, so we recommend her future family to start early on with confidence and independence training, in order not to develop separation anxiety. As she was recently living with an approximate 10-year old child very nicely, we can imagine she could well join a family with calm, educated children. At the same time, the parents must be experienced, and aware of the time and calmness it will take, to receive a dog into their family that has been abandoned and thrown around many times - slow, steady routines, repeating activities, reassurance from familiar things will be the key for Lucky to start her life fresh. Her shoulder height is 56cm. Lucky is currently positive on Leishmania and receiving medicine, which her forever family would need to still continue until testing negative for Leishmania. Shelter team will always support families while continuing the treatment.
