Numele lui Lucky este destul de ironice, deoarece ea a fost cu mult mai puțin norocoas în viața ei tânără... Odată adopțată din campanie de o femeie bătrână care nu avea timpul sau voința să îngrijesc pe Lucky - pentru scopul presupus al amuzamentului nepotului în timpul vizitelor. Când Lucky a devenit prea mult de neînțeles, a fost dată unei persoane fără adăpost, din nou fără resurse să îngrijească această tinerețe. Trecută de la oameni, Lucky s-a îndreptat puțin nervoasă când întâlnește oameni noi la început, dar putem vedea că se leagă rapid de o persoană care o îngrijeste. În prezent, ea trăiește într-o casă de familie cu o mamă și o fiică și este bine îngrijită. Lucky iubește copilul familiei și merg bine împreună la plimbare. Din păcate, încă nu știm multe despre experiențele lui Lucky cu ceilalți câini, sau cum ar reacționa într-un mediu urban, ce o sperie, ce o face fericită - dar știm că următoarea casă în care va merge Lucky trebuie să fie casa ei definitivă. Prin urmare, căutăm acum un mediu experimentat și răbdător pentru a relua viața lui Lucky, să i se acorde timpul de câine mic și perioada de adolescență pe care a lipsit-o. Lucky este foarte inteligent și învață repede, este și (delicioas) motivat de mâncare, așa că antrenamentul cu ea este plăcut și ușor. Având trecut prin trecerea de la oameni de nenumărate ori, ea devine concentrată asupra "omului ei" ca pe cea mai constantă lucrare din viața ei, așa că recomandăm viitoarei familii să înceapă devreme cu antrenamentul de încredere și independență, pentru a evita anxietatea de separare. Deoarece trăiește în prezent cu un copil de aproximativ 10 ani destul de bine, ne putem imagina că ar putea intra bine într-o familie cu un copil calm și educat. În același timp, părinții trebuie să fie experimentați și conștienți de timpul și liniștea necesare pentru a primi un câine în familia lor care a fost abandonat și aruncat de mulți oameni - rutine lente, constante, activități repetate, asigurarea de lucruri cunoscute vor fi cheia pentru ca Lucky să își înceapă viața de curând. Înălțimea șoldului este de 58 cm și o testăm în prezent pentru bolile mediteraneene.

Lucky's name is quite ironic, as she has been anything but lucky in her young life..... Once living in the campo with an elderly woman who did not have the time nor will to take care of Lucky - for the supposed purpose of the entertainment of the grandchild during the visits. When Lucky then became too much of a nuisance, she was handed over to a homeless person, again without means to properly take care of this young girl. Then Lucky moved around between 2 foster families, both of which left the country, and now she is in the shelter…. She has been living together with children throughout her life, and would make a lovely addition to a family with children in different ages. She bonds with humans really quickly, and is ready to work, train and play with you. As a young energetic girl, once Lucky gets her turn in the free-running dog park which she loves, she runs like a Rhodesian! She concentrates very quickly, reacts on her name and she is easy to work with especially because she loves snacks! In the shelter we have not yet worked on socialising Lucky with other dogs, as she arrived to the shelter on heat, so that is not a good point of time for canine sessions, but we see that the more dogs she sees and passes by, the less she reacts by barking or getting agitated, so we believe that she is simply lacking positive experiences with other dogs and can potentially live together with 1 or more other dogs, both in the shelter and in ther forever home. We’ll keep testing that. She loves to go on walks with volunteers and is always happy to see humans. She is intially pulling a bit on the leash, but once she has had enough exercise to let our her energy, her leash-walking improves significantly. For Lucky we are looking for a patient home, to restart her life, and even though she is an easy dog in a home environment, then in order to secure that her next home really is her forever home, we do require previous dog experience. Having been passed around countless of times, she does get focused on "her human" as the one constant thing in her life, so we recommend her future family to start early on with confidence and independence training, in order not to develop separation anxiety. As she was recently living with an approximate 10-year old child very nicely, we can imagine she could well join a family with calm, educated children. At the same time, the parents must be experienced, and aware of the time and calmness it will take, to receive a dog into their family that has been abandoned and thrown around many times - slow, steady routines, repeating activities, reassurance from familiar things will be the key for Lucky to start her life fresh. Her shoulder height is 56cm. Lucky is currently positive on Leishmania and receiving medicine, which her forever family would need to still continue until testing negative for Leishmania. Shelter team will always support families while continuing the treatment.
