Otis som beskrevet af frivillig Lisa 05/10/25... Otis har været i dyreværnet i en lang tid nu og har ikke haft et godt liv, han kom ind sammen med sin ven Bruce meget bange og skræmt, han vil ryste i hjørnet, hvis du kommer ind i hans kage og syntes ikke om at blive berørt, for affektion er noget, han aldrig har oplevet. Da han er så bange og stresset fra at være i dyreværnet, kan frivillige ikke få ham ud på en tur. Jeg har siddet med Otis og Bruce i måneder nu og trods at Otis ikke længere ryster i hjørnet, vil han lade mig stryge ham, men han har stadig den skræmte følelse, for han trækker sig og er ikke klar til at forlade sin kage for at gå på tur endnu. Trods at være i et støjende og stressende miljø er Otis en rolig og fjernhed dog. Det vil være dejligt at se Otis løbe rundt og spille og nyde menneskeomfamning, hvilket kan opnås med et elskende hjem med nogen, der er tålmodig for at bygge den tillid op. 24/04/26 - Otis gik i haveparken og kom bedre ud af sin kage i dag.

Otis as described by volunteer Lisa 05/10/25... Otis has been in the shelter for a while now and has not had a good start to life, he came in with his buddy Bruce very petrified and fearful, he will shake in the corner if you enter his cage and did not like being touched as affection is something he has never experienced. As he is so fearful and the stress of shelter life, volunteers are unable to get him out for a walk. I have been sitting with Otis and Bruce for months now and despite Otis no longer shaking in the corner, he will let me stroke him, but he still has that fear as he will flinch and he is not ready to leave his cage for a walk yet. Despite being in an environment that is noisy, and stressful Otis is a calm and timid dog. It will be nice to see Otis running around playing and enjoying human cuddles which can be achieved with a loving home with someone that is patient to help build that trust. 24/04/26 - Otis went into the park and was better coming out of his kennel today. Approx weight 10/06/26: 26.5kgs Update from Michelle K 06/08/26: Otis. Otis has come on amazingly in the last few months. From a dog who wanted nothing to do with anyone and not leaving his kennel, he is now a very happy young boy who loves his walks and is excellent on the lead. All the volunteers who walk him love his quiet, calm personality and he is so very easy to walk. He loves all the dogs he meets and is now a very friendly and loving young boy. All he needed was time, love and patience from our wonderful volunteers and he is now ready to find his forever family who will get a wonderful companion in this very special boy. ❤️
