Otis come descritto dalla volontaria Lisa 05/10/25... Otis è stato in rifugio da un po' di tempo e non ha avuto una buona cominciata alla vita, è arrivato con il suo amico Bruce molto spaventato e timoroso, se entra qualcuno nella sua gabbia lui trema in un angolo e non gli piace essere toccato perché l'affetto è qualcosa che non ha mai sperimentato. Essendo così pauroso e a causa dello stress della vita in rifugio, i volontari non riescono a portarlo a passeggiare. Ho trascorso mesi seduta con Otis e Bruce e nonostante Otis non tremi più nell'angolo, mi permette di accarezzarlo, ma ancora ha paura perché si sussulta e non è pronto a uscire dalla sua gabbia per una passeggiata. Nonostante sia in un ambiente rumoroso e stressante, Otis è un cane calmo e timido. Sarebbe bello vedere Otis correre e giocare e godersi gli abbracci umani che possono essere raggiunti con una casa amorosa da parte di qualcuno paziente che possa aiutarlo a costruire questa fiducia. 24/04/26 - Otis è andato al parco ed è uscito meglio dalla sua gabbia oggi.

Otis as described by volunteer Lisa 05/10/25... Otis has been in the shelter for a while now and has not had a good start to life, he came in with his buddy Bruce very petrified and fearful, he will shake in the corner if you enter his cage and did not like being touched as affection is something he has never experienced. As he is so fearful and the stress of shelter life, volunteers are unable to get him out for a walk. I have been sitting with Otis and Bruce for months now and despite Otis no longer shaking in the corner, he will let me stroke him, but he still has that fear as he will flinch and he is not ready to leave his cage for a walk yet. Despite being in an environment that is noisy, and stressful Otis is a calm and timid dog. It will be nice to see Otis running around playing and enjoying human cuddles which can be achieved with a loving home with someone that is patient to help build that trust. 24/04/26 - Otis went into the park and was better coming out of his kennel today. Approx weight 10/06/26: 26.5kgs Update from Michelle K 06/08/26: Otis. Otis has come on amazingly in the last few months. From a dog who wanted nothing to do with anyone and not leaving his kennel, he is now a very happy young boy who loves his walks and is excellent on the lead. All the volunteers who walk him love his quiet, calm personality and he is so very easy to walk. He loves all the dogs he meets and is now a very friendly and loving young boy. All he needed was time, love and patience from our wonderful volunteers and he is now ready to find his forever family who will get a wonderful companion in this very special boy. ❤️
