Otis descrito pela voluntária Lisa 05/10/25... Otis está no abrigo há algum tempo e não teve um bom começo na vida, ele chegou com seu amigo Bruce muito assustado e temeroso, ele tremula no canto se entrar em sua gaiola e não gosta de ser tocado, pois afeto é algo que ele nunca experimentou. Como ele é tão temeroso e o estresse da vida no abrigo, os voluntários não conseguem levá-lo para uma caminhada. Eu tenho ficado com Otis e Bruce há meses agora e apesar de Otis já não tremer mais no canto, ele permite que eu o passeie, mas ainda tem esse medo, pois ele sobressalta e ainda não está pronto para sair da gaiola para uma caminhada. Apesar de estar em um ambiente barulhento e estressante, Otis é um cão calmo e tímido. Seria bom ver Otis correndo e brincando e aproveitando carinhos humanos, o que pode ser alcançado com um lar amoroso e alguém paciente para ajudar a construir essa confiança. 24/04/26 - Otis foi ao parque hoje e saiu melhor da sua gaiola.

Otis as described by volunteer Lisa 05/10/25... Otis has been in the shelter for a while now and has not had a good start to life, he came in with his buddy Bruce very petrified and fearful, he will shake in the corner if you enter his cage and did not like being touched as affection is something he has never experienced. As he is so fearful and the stress of shelter life, volunteers are unable to get him out for a walk. I have been sitting with Otis and Bruce for months now and despite Otis no longer shaking in the corner, he will let me stroke him, but he still has that fear as he will flinch and he is not ready to leave his cage for a walk yet. Despite being in an environment that is noisy, and stressful Otis is a calm and timid dog. It will be nice to see Otis running around playing and enjoying human cuddles which can be achieved with a loving home with someone that is patient to help build that trust. 24/04/26 - Otis went into the park and was better coming out of his kennel today. Approx weight 10/06/26: 26.5kgs Update from Michelle K 06/08/26: Otis. Otis has come on amazingly in the last few months. From a dog who wanted nothing to do with anyone and not leaving his kennel, he is now a very happy young boy who loves his walks and is excellent on the lead. All the volunteers who walk him love his quiet, calm personality and he is so very easy to walk. He loves all the dogs he meets and is now a very friendly and loving young boy. All he needed was time, love and patience from our wonderful volunteers and he is now ready to find his forever family who will get a wonderful companion in this very special boy. ❤️
