Mijn naam is Bob. Ik liep enkele weken geleden nietsvermoedend de vangkooi in en pakte toch even de schrik van mijn leven toen deze dicht viel! Ik werd naar de dierenarts gebracht en daar zagen ze dat ik al een tijdje op de dool was. Je kent het wel; hongerig, vlooien, een oud letsel aan mijn poot dat door het rondzwerven weer ontstoken is geraakt,... () Ze zeiden dat ik het niet meer aankon om nog buiten te moeten leven, dus ging ik "in opvang". Dat is toch even aanpassen hoor, na zo'n lange tijd mijn eigen boontjes te moeten doppen. Gelukkig staat er altijd een lekkere pot voer voor mij klaar en wanneer ik op mijn vertrouwde plekje zit, kan ik ook erg genieten van knuffels. Verder vind ik het leven binnen wel nog een beetje eng. Ik vertrouw nog niet zo snel mensen en vind het heel-de-tijd-binnen-zitten nog wat raar. Maar goed, ik zal m'n draai wel vinden. Nu is het blijkbaar tijd om op zoek te gaan naar mijn "eigen" thuis, een plekje waar ik altijd mag blijven wonen. Wat ik daar nodig heb? Het belangrijkste vind ik dat er niet teveel mensen zijn, één of twee is voldoende, en dat het daar rustig is. Liever geen kinderen voor mij! De mensen waarmee ik samen leef, moeten een beetje geduld met mij hebben zodat ik de tijd heb om hen te leren vertrouwen. Andere katten mogen er zijn als deze rustig zijn, maar het hoeft niet; ik denk dat ik ook wel alleen kan zijn. Verder zou ik het echt de max vinden om later nog eens naar buiten te kunnen gaan, maar op een plekje waar ik veilig ben en niet de acrobaat kan uithangen, want dan raakt mijn pootje weer verwond. Lang geleden ben ik immers een stukje van mijn voorpoot kwijtgeraakt, dus als ik daar nu te veel op buiten loop, raakt het uiteinde van dat stompje weer verwond, en dat willen we niet! Nu hoop ik dat er iemand in mijn droevige oogjes kijkt en denkt: dat is hem, die oogjes wil ik weer laten stralen! Waar is die ware liefde? Alle katten zijn ontvlooid, ontwormd, gevaccineerd, gesteriliseerd, gechipt en geregistreerd. Bob is getest op aids en leucose en testte negatief. We vragen de gebruikelijke tussenkomst in de dierenartskosten van 180 euro per kat bij één vaccin en 200 euro wanneer beide vaccinaties al gegeven werden. Adoptieprocedure: Er wordt eerst telefonisch nagegaan of er een goede match kan zijn tussen jou en de kat, nadien kan een afspraak gemaakt worden voor een bezoekje zodat jullie met elkaar kunnen kennis maken. Bij adoptie wordt een adoptiecontract getekend en de adoptiebijdrage wordt betaald bij het afhalen van de kat. Iedere kat vertrekt met een Europees paspoort.
