Bodzio

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 6 months

Update: Bodzio has been regularly socializing from the beginning. Initially reported as a very shy puppy - upon seeing a person outside the kennel, he would tremble all over and avoid contact, hiding in the hut. A turning point were the treats and licking mat, which aroused his interest and motivated him to come out of the hut. At first, he dared to approach the fence, then more boldly went out of his shelter. In individual work sessions, Bodzio opens up more - he allows closeness, sniffs the caregiver, eats treats from the hand and can even lie down next to a person. Regular visits to his kennel are yielding results - each day he is more curious and brave. He requires further calm work and support, but there is great potential for building a relationship. First description: Bodzio is a dog who is still learning that a human can be a friend. We do not know his past, but one thing is certain - he has never experienced human touch and warmth before. He is a dog with fears that still need to be worked through with him. On a leash, he feels uncertain - after a few steps, he stops and it is clear that it is a big challenge for him. For now, he is not interested in treats, toys or greater interaction with humans, but he is not aggressive - he is just afraid. His biggest dream is peace and a sense of security. He feels good in the company of other dogs that can help him open up to the world. A new caregiver will have to show patience and heart, because trust with Bodzio has to be earned - but when he feels safe, his gratitude and loyalty will be invaluable. About Bodzio

What life with Bodzio looks like

Bodzio is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Bodzio, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Bodzio?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Bodzio on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Bodzio if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Bodzio already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Bodzio isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Bodzio and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
