Adopt Cezar-8

German Shepherd · Male · Adult · 4 years

Native Country: Hungary Cezar, the wonderful stray, was found homeless on the streets in a suburb of Kecskemét on September 29, 2025. Kind neighbors informed the shelter, and Cezar was immediately picked up. During the chip check, they even struck gold; the chip was registered, and the owners were informed. They said they would come to pick him up, but they never contacted the shelter again and never brought him home. Such things are hard to understand, but perhaps it was better for Cezar, as he likely didn’t mean much to them. Cezar is eagerly waiting for his second chance and for people who will take him seriously and never leave him behind. Cezar needed some time to settle into the shelter and find his rhythm. Cezar is a great, energetic, strong, active, and independent fellow. He likes people, but also likes to test his limits, and it still takes him some time to give in to human leadership. In his past, he was probably often on his own, making independent decisions. Cezar walks well on a leash, but he still needs to learn the rest of the dog ABCs consistently and with love. His ideal home would be in the countryside, and a garden would be a bonus. Cezar has dog experience and can read dogs, which is a must for his new family. Cezar lives alone in a kennel. He gets along well with sovereign female dogs, but he hasn’t been tested with male dogs yet. (As of April 1, 2026) For our proud and not entirely easy Cezar, we are looking for sovereign and dog-experienced people who can handle strong-charactered dogs and appreciate and enjoy this challenge. Cezar wants to arrive in peace and then be properly bred and challenged in a breed-appropriate manner at the right time and finally have people who show him how wonderful life can be when you have a family connection and are loved, understood, and respected. Who has a big dog bed free for Cezar? Cezar is ready for travel.

About Cezar-8

What life with Cezar-8 looks like

Cezar-8 is a adult german shepherd dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cezar-8, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cezar-8?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cezar-8 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cezar-8 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cezar-8 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cezar-8 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cezar-8 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
