Adopt Crocus

Male · Puppy · 3 months

Crocus and his brother Alpi were apparently abandoned. Both came into the care of our Hungarian partner shelter. Crocus is still very playful as a puppy and still has a lot to learn. At three months old, he already has a shoulder height of about 40 cm. When fully grown, he will likely reach a height of around 55-60 cm. We don’t know which breeds are in him, but he looks very much like a Labradormix. His brother Alpi looks more like a mixed breed of a hunting dog. He is a bit smaller than his brother but more sturdy. For the sweet pup, we wish for a consistent family that is ready to attend puppy school with him. So that he doesn’t lose his social contact and his people can learn how to teach him the doggie basics and get rid of the fluff that comes with a young puppy. Children in the new home should already be well-behaved. His new family should be energetic and active. In the right hands, the little one will surely become a dream dog that brings joy to his family. As always, we remind you that a dog from the international animal shelter needs time, patience, and a loving welcome. New impressions, new routines, and new bonds should grow in peace. Whoever is ready to walk this path together will be rewarded with a very special connection. Crocus is microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and has been examined by a veterinarian. He also has an EU pet passport. The handover could take place on June 27, 2026, in Berlin, or alternatively in the Stuttgart area, should someone fall in love with him and give him a – forever home –! Crocus Rasse: male dog: intact, Alter: 07.03.2026, shoulder height: ca. This is a young, adolescent dog.

About Crocus

What life with Crocus looks like

Crocus is a small puppy/kitten dog waiting at animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen in Ketzin.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Crocus, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Crocus?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Crocus on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Crocus if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Crocus already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Crocus isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with animals care - Tierschutz ohne Grenzen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Crocus and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
