Freddie

Beagle Β· Unknown Β· Puppy

Meet Freddie Freddie is a handsome 6-year-old tricolour Beagle who is looking for a new home. Freddie is an intelligent boy who loves spending time with people. He enjoys being cuddled and stroked, playing tug-of-war with his dog toys and having fun being chased. He has lots to offer a new family and would love to find someone who can give him the time, exercise and companionship he deserves. Training and Behaviour Freddie is housetrained and can be left alone for up to three hours. He travels well in the car and wears a harness for walks. He can pull at times, so some ongoing lead training may be beneficial. He has not attended training classes and has not been crate trained. Freddie is not currently let off lead, so he will need to be exercised on a lead and in a secure area while his recall is assessed and developed. He is not destructive, and his owners report no aggression towards people. Items can be taken away from him without a problem. Freddie is an intelligent dog who should enjoy positive, reward-based training and activities that keep his mind occupied as well as giving him physical exercise. He can be worried by sudden loud bangs, such as fireworks, so he will need reassurance and a safe, comfortable place to retreat to when there are loud noises. Other Dogs Freddie is described as friendly and interested when meeting other dogs on the lead, with no reported aggression. His owners feel he could live with another dog. However, he has no known experience of interacting with dogs off lead, so introductions to any resident dog should be managed carefully and at a pace that suits both dogs. Cats Freddie’s behaviour around cats is unknown, as he has had no experience of them during his current ownership. Any assessment would need to be carried out carefully. Food and Feeding Freddie is very interested in food and is currently fed dry food pellets over three meals a day. His interest in food may make reward-based training a useful way to engage him. Home Life and Things He Enjoys Freddie sleeps in his own bed in his owners’ bedroom. He enjoys playing with dog toys, especially tug-of-war, and likes being chased as part of a game. He also loves affection and spending time with his people. His new family should be prepared to provide regular walks, playtime and mental stimulation to help him enjoy a more active and fulfilling lifestyle. Health No known health issues have been reported. Freddie is recorded as having been castrated in Poland, although the date is not known. His last recorded vaccination was 25 November 2025, and he was last wormed on 10 September 2026. Freddie’s Ideal Home Freddie would suit a home where he will receive the exercise, attention and companionship that his current elderly owners are sadly unable to provide. A family who enjoys walking, playing and spending time with their dog would be ideal. He may be able to live with another friendly dog, subject to careful introductions. His suitability for living with cats is unknown. Freddie is an intelligent, affectionate boy who enjoys being part of family life. With the opportunity to enjoy more activity, continued training and plenty of love, he could make a wonderful companion in his next home.

About Freddie

What life with Freddie looks like

Freddie is a puppy beagle dog waiting at The Beagle Welfare Scheme in United Kingdom.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window β€” house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Freddie, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Freddie?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Beagle Welfare Scheme handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Freddie on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Freddie if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” The Beagle Welfare Scheme will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Freddie already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Freddie isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Beagle Welfare Scheme early rather than rehoming privately; they know Freddie and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
