Grimmia

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Grimmia was found alone on the street – without a chip, without a known history. So, Grimmia found its way to our partner shelter Allatbarat in Hungary, where it now waits. Grimmia is a loving female dog, currently still a bit insecure in handling but always friendly. It is trying to sort out the new situation properly. In a loving environment – and also within the animal shelter itself – it will gradually thaw out. In a suitable home, it will develop into an active and lively female dog that wants to be encouraged and challenged. Movement, variety, fresh air, and shared outings and adventures will be just what it likes – after all, being happy as a terrier simply includes that. Of course, Grimmia still has a lot to learn – everyday life, routines, and the dog ABC are still on the schedule. She is compatible with other dogs and social. For Grimmia, we are looking for loving, adventure-loving people who are eager to show her the world, to be out with her often, and to give her a life as lively as she is. A terrier heart is waiting to finally have joy in life! Please only apply for a dog if you can adopt him/her soon! Foster homes are not long-term accommodation options – foster homes cannot reserve dogs for several weeks or even months. A quick move into the final home is important for the dogs, as they are settling in, which can make a later change more difficult, but it is not necessary if a home is found. Additionally, foster home placements are urgently needed, as many dogs in Hungary are waiting to take their place. Many thanks for your understanding and support in the interest of the dogs!

Grimmia wurde allein auf der Straße gefunden – ohne Chip, ohne eine bekannte Vorgeschichte. So fand Sie den Weg in unser Partnertierheim Allatbarat in Ungarn, wo sie nun wartet. Grimmia ist eine liebe Hündin, im Umgang derzeit noch etwas unsicher und eher zurückhaltend, dabei aber immer freundlich. Sie versucht derzeit noch, die neue Situation so richtig zu sortieren. In einem liebevollen Umfeld – und auch im Tierheim selbst – wird sie Schritt für Schritt auftauen. In einem passenden Zuhause wird sie sich zu einer aktiven und lebensfrohen Hündin entwickeln, die gefördert und ausgelastet werden möchte. Bewegung, Abwechslung, frische Luft und gemeinsame Unternehmungen sowie Abenteuer werden ganz nach ihrem Geschmack sein – schließlich gehört das zu einem glücklichen Terrierleben einfach dazu. Natürlich muss Grimmia noch einiges lernen – Alltag, Routinen und das Hunde-ABC stehen noch auf dem Stundenplan. Mit anderen Hunden ist sie verträglich und sozial. Für Grimmia suchen wir liebe, unternehmungsfreudige Menschen, die Lust haben, ihr die Welt zu zeigen, viel mit ihr draußen unterwegs zu sein und ihr ein Leben zu schenken, das genauso lebendig ist wie sie selbst. Ein Terrierherz wartet darauf, endlich Freude am Leben zu haben! Bitte bewerbt euch nur für einen Hund, wenn ihr ihn auch zeitnah adoptieren könnt! Pflegestellen sind keine langfristigen Unterbringungsorte – die Pflegestellen können Hunde nicht über mehrere Wochen oder gar Monate „reservieren“. Für die Hunde ist zudem ein schneller Umzug ins endgültige Zuhause wichtig, da sie sich zunehmend auf der Pflegestelle einleben, was einen späteren Wechsel erschweren kann und nicht notwendig ist, wenn ein Zuhause gefunden ist. Außerdem werden die Pflegestellenplätze dringend benötigt, denn es warten viele Hunde in Ungarn, die dann nachrücken können. Vielen Dank für euer Verständnis und eure Unterstützung im Sinne der Hunde! RegularLabs.EmailProtector.unCloak("ep_ea8b048b"); RegularLabs.EmailProtector.unCloak("ep_618b1dbc");

About Grimmia

What life with Grimmia looks like

Grimmia is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Pfotenhilfe Sauerland e.V. in Marsberg.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Grimmia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Grimmia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pfotenhilfe Sauerland e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Grimmia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Grimmia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pfotenhilfe Sauerland e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Grimmia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Grimmia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pfotenhilfe Sauerland e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Grimmia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
