Harry

Mixed Breed Cat · Male · Young · 3 years

Looking for: A loving home with a warm lap to curl up on This handsome gentleman is all about two things in life - company and LAPS! A cuddle from Harry is enough to make anyone's day, so consider this his formal application to be your future best friend. Harry came to us as a stray, covered in scabs and looking rather sorry for himself. Estimated to be around 2–3 years old, he's had a rough start in life, which is still reflected in his patchy coat while his fur continues to recover. Thankfully, Harry's difficult days are behind him, and he's blossomed into a confident, outgoing lap cat with a huge personality. Harry is wonderfully straightforward with his affection. If he likes you, you'll know about it. He doesn't gently rub against you so much as launch his entire face into you like a furry freight train. Glasses, phones, books, cups of tea, your personal space — nothing is safe from a Harry head-butt! Underneath all that enthusiasm is a loving boy who simply wants to be close to his people. If you're looking for a cat who takes his friendship duties very seriously (and your lap even more seriously), Harry is ready to meet you!

About Harry

What life with Harry looks like

Harry is a extra-large young adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at RSPCA Worcester & Mid-Worcestershire Branch in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Harry, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Harry?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. RSPCA Worcester & Mid-Worcestershire Branch handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Harry on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Harry if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — RSPCA Worcester & Mid-Worcestershire Branch will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Harry already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Harry isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with RSPCA Worcester & Mid-Worcestershire Branch early rather than rehoming privately; they know Harry and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
