Levis

Mixed Breed · Male

Levis is a little dog who was born and raised on a garbage dump. How sad that sounds... But it's true, unfortunately. He didn't get what puppies get who spend their childhood snuggled in warm blankets, always have a delicious meal to count on, and have their human caregiver - a guide who introduces them to adulthood and teaches them how to be strong, brave, and fearless in the future. Because this was missing from our little one's life, he is not able to enjoy life as he deserves. Levis is afraid of human touch, also avoids all eye contact, which may indicate that he was probably never interested in anyone before. However, there is one thing that gives us hope, namely his great interest in the world around him. He gladly leaves the hut to watch other dogs play and probably dreams of being able to run and play with someone, or chase a ball. Well, we will have to wait a bit for such results, but we believe that there will come a day when Levisek asks for a scratch behind the ear and all his fears will disappear. We work, we don't give up, after all, every dog deserves a happy ending. Keep your fingers crossed!

PL·Show original

Levis to malutki psiak, który urodził się i wychowywał na wysypisku śmieci. Jakże przykro to brzmi… Trzymajcie kciuki!

About Levis

What life with Levis looks like

Levis is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Niechciane i Zapomniane SOS Zwierząt (Łódź) in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Levis, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Levis?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Niechciane i Zapomniane SOS Zwierząt (Łódź) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Levis on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Levis if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Niechciane i Zapomniane SOS Zwierząt (Łódź) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Levis already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Levis isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Niechciane i Zapomniane SOS Zwierząt (Łódź) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Levis and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
