Adopt Lienus

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 10 months

mixed breed born 08/2025 approximately 50cm tall Compatible with: male dogs, female dogs and cats Children not yet tested Lienus is a young, exceptionally handsome male dog whose unique fur pattern immediately catches the eye. His striped coat and alert yet gentle gaze make him truly special - but behind his striking appearance is a young dog who simply wants to belong. Currently, Lienus lives with our friends at an animal shelter in Spain. There, he has shown himself to be a compatible and social dog: He gets along well with other animals and even cats do not pose a problem for him. He moves through everyday life friendly and unexcited, and seems to greatly value the company of other animals. As a young dog, Lienus naturally brings curiosity and a sense of discovery. He wants to know the world, experience new things, and grow together with his people. At the same time, he appears balanced and attentive, so with the right guidance and loving companionship, he will surely become a wonderful companion in daily life. For Lienus, we hope for a home where he is recognized not just for his special appearance, but above all for what he is: a young dog with a big heart, ready to form a close bond with his people. People who give him time to settle in, support him, and provide him with security will find in him a loyal and loving companion. Who would like to give this special young male dog a chance at a new life and discover the world together with him? Lienus is, of course, microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, registered, and has been checked by a veterinarian. Additionally, he has been tested for Mediterranean diseases and brings an EU vaccination passport to his new home. We have put together all the pictures we have of Lienus into a slideshow above on the page. Just take your time and look through the pictures, or click on them to view the next image. Mischling geb. Kontakt: Julia Streitl 01 77 – 21 16 44 7

About Lienus

What life with Lienus looks like

Lienus is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Hoffnungsvolle Tierherzen e.V. in Essingen.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lienus, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lienus?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hoffnungsvolle Tierherzen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lienus on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lienus if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hoffnungsvolle Tierherzen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lienus already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lienus isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hoffnungsvolle Tierherzen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lienus and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
