adoption requirements adoption process Inquire about this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Inquire about this dog now! Lita is about 7 months old and is an especially gentle, sensitive, and cautious young female dog with a loving gaze that goes straight to your heart. Visually, she enchants with her soft, beige-colored coat and her delicate facial expression. While many dogs her age already get to experience security and a regulated daily routine, Lita is still waiting to truly arrive. In her foster home, she shows herself to be curious, but at the same time still very reserved. She deliberately seeks out safe retreats – a corner bench is one of her favorite spots, from where she attentively observes her surroundings. Outside, Lita is still cautious. In the garden, she reliably does her business and is slowly beginning to explore her surroundings curiously. An existing only dog gives her a lot of security, which is why we hope for a home with a confident canine buddy for her. Going for walks is not yet possible at the moment, and even putting on a harness still frightens her. She currently only allows physical closeness from a distance – she needs time to build trust and open up. For Lita, we are looking for a very quiet home with empathetic and experienced people who will give her the time to settle in at her own pace – with no pressure or expectations. Due to her sensitive and fearful nature, she is not a beginner's dog. Patience, calmness, and understanding are the keys to allowing her to build trust step by step. A home with a garden would be particularly helpful for her, as she can gain security there in a protected environment. Lita travels vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for fleas with her EU pet passport to her new home. Due to her age, she is not yet neutered. After positive A heartfelt thank you to Kati, who gave Lita her name and thus made the first step towards a better future possible. As of: 03.05.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 03.05.2026

About Lita

What life with Lita looks like

Lita is a puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lita, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lita?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lita on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lita if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lita already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lita isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lita and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
