Lorca &#8211

Mixed Breed · Male

Watch out, here comes Lorca! Our cheerful Harlequin was found in Linares under the care of ArcoNatura. The one-year-old male dog was discovered in a small village and unfortunately caught the radar of the police, who wanted to take him to Perrera. Luckily, a young animal rescuer stepped in at the last moment and handed Lorca over to her (and our) friends in Linares. Lorca is a charming knee-high gentleman who quickly won the hearts of our partners with his playful and clingy nature. When visitors come to the animal shelter, Lorca politely introduces himself, asks politely for cuddles and treats, and even charms the tiniest two-legged ones – yet no one has taken him home so far. Our cute Andalusian mix (Lorca should be able to call himself both a Podenco and a Bodeguerogene) is therefore waiting for the chance to win his ticket to great happiness. Lorca is a playful and lively companion who is looking for a family that can be fair to an active teenager. Long walks with neighbors, ball games, childcare, and stalking neighbors (Lorca has terrier genes) are at the top of Lorca’s to-do list when he finally gets to leave behind the world of bars and concrete floors. But our friendly Harlequin also knows how to appreciate long couch binge-watching, ambitious cuddles and massages, treat tastings, and soft pillows … If you fall in love with Lorca’s cheerful smile and already enjoy the jealous glares of your neighbors, who will surely not wait long to see you stroll down the street with your new best friend, when you can almost feel the short hairs behind Lorca’s ears caressing your fingers while a small, warm furball snores on your lap, then sign up with us – Lorca can hardly wait to finally meet you!

Aufgepasst, hier kommt Lorca!

About Lorca &#8211

What life with Lorca &#8211 looks like

Lorca &#8211 is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. in Gernsbach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lorca &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lorca &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lorca &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lorca &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lorca &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lorca &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein ARCA e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lorca &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
