Lottie & Willow

Dachshund · Female

Lottie & Willow – South Wales LOTTIE Female 5 years Smooth haired silver dapple miniature (6kg) Not spayed WILLOW Female 5 years Smooth haired blue and tan miniature (6kg) Not spayed Adoption fee £650 Lottie and Willow are a beautiful bonded pair who have spent their whole lives together. They adore one another, play well together, and are always found snuggled up close. Lottie is the more laid back of the two and is a loving girl whose favourite thing in the world is to roll over and offer her belly for rubs. She has a soft, affectionate nature and a playful side that comes alive the moment toys appear. Willow is equally loving and deeply affectionate, happiest when curled up on her human’s knee or tucked in close for cuddles. She can be playful too, but her heart lies firmly with human attention and closeness. Both girls enjoy their walks but outdoors Willow can be reactive, especially around other dogs, and she isn’t shy about making her feelings known with some barking, but overall her sweet nature shines through. Together, the girls are a joy to be around. They are gentle, loving and fun, and make great companions. They are seeking a new home only because circumstances have changed and they are now being left alone for longer than is fair. Lottie and Willow would love a home with a garden giving them space to potter, relax and enjoy their days together. They are used to children and have always been friendly with them, so they could happily live with dog‑savvy children aged eight and over. They may also be able to live with another canine companion following a successful meet (any male dogs must be neutered as the girls are not spayed). Lottie and Willow will be a wonderful addition to a family who can offer them the affection, attention and closeness they thrive on. Requirements in a home: A home with a garden. Cannot live with cats. Can potentially live with other dogs pending a successful meet. For more information, please email

About Lottie & Willow

What life with Lottie & Willow looks like

Lottie & Willow is an adult dachshund dog waiting at The Red Foundation in Pentlow Street.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lottie & Willow, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lottie & Willow?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Red Foundation handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lottie & Willow on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lottie & Willow if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — The Red Foundation will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Lottie & Willow already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lottie & Willow isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Red Foundation early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lottie & Willow and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
