MARKUS IS LOOKING FOR A HEART TO ADOPT: he is losing his vision due to a chronic condition! Gradually, his world is falling more and more into darkness. There is a treatment, at least to try to stop or slow it down... but it is impossible to follow in a dog shelter! He needs a home, a loving family that can take care of him. Markus, a large bull terrier mix, was found disoriented and terrified on the edge of a busy road. He has turned out to be a dog with a golden character: he is sociable, affectionate and incredibly sweet with everyone, compatible with other dogs (preferably females, although it seems he has no reactions to male dogs). Markus is an example of resilience: despite the illness, abandonment, and progressive eye disease, he remains good. His heart remains pure. He is looking for us following our voices. He will be handed over already microchipped, vaccinated, and neutered. His condition is chronic: Keratoconjunctivitis sicca with nodular episcleritis. His tear glands do not produce the liquid component needed to clean and keep the eye moist, so the eye dries and becomes inflamed, is more prone to infections and the cornea becomes vascularized, blurring vision (progressively until blindness). His treatment is: - Tacrolimus galenic preparation 0.05% (an immunosuppressant on prescription) twice a day for life - Ripagel vet: twice a day for life - Lactated Ringer's solution to clean the eyes before the treatment. He is very good, cooperative, and allows everything to be done!
