Ozmin

Bichon Frisé · Male · Young · 1 year

Ozmin, a delightful Hungarian Vizsla, was brought to the Kecskemét animal shelter on September 11, 2026, from the town of Örkeny. He was wandering the streets, with no one to claim him. His past is unknown. He was in poor condition, matted, unkempt, and his fur was full of thorns. The microchip scan was inconclusive, and no one was missing him. We believe it's better for Ozmin, as he'll get the chance to find a loving and responsible home where he'll be well cared for and groomed. We're crossing our fingers that he'll soon pack his bags and spend the upcoming winter in warmth, not outside in a kennel. Initially, Ozmin was quite reserved, but fortunately, that has changed, and he's making the best of his new life situation. He's a great dog in his prime, with a whole life ahead of him. Although his start wasn't optimal, he remains a friendly, loving, funny, agile, and nice little fellow, although new situations might initially intimidate him. He loves being around people, adores pets, and needs attention and interaction. Ozmin is still green behind the ears, and his new owners should be willing to teach him the necessary dog etiquette, but he's a clever boy who quickly understands what's expected of him. He's a great companion on a leash, although there's room for improvement. Despite being a small dog, he has the same needs as his larger canine friends and wants to be treated accordingly. He gets along well with his fellow dogs. We're looking for loving and dog-enthusiastic people who will go through thick and thin with him. Ozmin wants to be loved, cared for, guided, challenged, and nurtured, and enjoy his new life happily, loved, and carefree. He'd love to roam through forests and meadows with his new family, indulge in many pets and cuddles – that's Ozmin's dream. In return, he brings a lot of love and joy to his new home. Who's life will Ozmin enrich? Ozmin has an underbite. Ozmin can travel from around early November 2026, once he's found a home or foster family.

About Ozmin

What life with Ozmin looks like

Ozmin is a small young adult bichon frisé dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ozmin, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ozmin?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ozmin on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ozmin if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Ozmin already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ozmin isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ozmin and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
