"Hello everyone, can you see me? I'm Bella. Earlier I was called Hörnchen, but my foster mom didn't like that, because after all I am also a Beauty. A Bella, of course. :) I can't see you, actually. Since I was born, I have been blind. I can only recognize shadows with one eye, and I manage quite well in my world. So far, it has consisted of living under a staircase in the basement with a guinea pig. A guinea pig... tsk... as if that could replace a rabbit friend. Then the nice people from the animal aid came and rescued us. They also took an X-ray of me because I hold my back leg so strangely. It turned out that as a baby I probably broke my pelvis. It really hurt back then, but no one took me to the vet or took care of me. But now I can hop around quite well. The guinea pig finally moved to a companion and after a short time on a temporary foster home, where I was pampered a lot, I moved into a handicapped apartment, where I learned how to live like a real rabbit! Finally, I can snuggle with companions who understand my language! I'm not alone anymore and have lots of space to hop around! As well as possible with my little limp leg. However, it will certainly cost the animal aid Weidenberg a pretty penny, because I will be there forever and if I get sick, they have to take me to a veterinarian. But hey, maybe someone out there would like to be my godparent and support the nice people a bit, so that I can continue to be well cared for? Of course, I know they will always do everything for me, but it would be easier if someone else helped too. So, you out there, whom I can't see, would you like to be my godparent, the charming Bella?"

„Hallo Ihr, könnt Ihr mich sehen? Ich bin Bella. Früher hieß ich Hörnchen, aber das fand meine Pflegemama nicht so toll, denn schließlich bin ich ja auch eine Hübsche. Eine Bella eben. 🙂 Ich kann Euch nämlich nicht sehen. Seit ich geboren wurde, bin ich blind. Nur auf einem Auge erkenne ich Schatten, damit komme ich gut zurecht in meiner Welt. Die hat bisher daraus bestanden, dass ich mit einem Meerschweinchen unter einer Treppe im Keller leben musste. Einem Meerschweinchen…ts… als ob das einen Kaninchen-Kumpel ersetzen könnte. Dann kamen die netten Leute von der Tierhilfe und haben uns erlöst. Die haben mich auch röntgen lassen, weil ich mein eines hinteres Beinchen so komisch halte. Dabei wurde festgestellt, dass ich als Baby wohl mal das Becken gebrochen hatte. Tat echt weh damals, doch niemand ging mit mir zum Tierarzt oder hat mich versorgt. Ich kann damit aber ganz gut hoppeln inzwischen. Das Meeri durfte endlich zu einem Artgenossen umziehen und nach kurzer Zeit auf einer Übergangs-Pflegestelle, wo ich kräftig verwöhnt wurde, durfte ich in eine Handicap-WG umziehen und dort lernen, wie ein echtes Kaninchen zu leben! Endlich darf ich mit Artgenossen kuscheln, die meine Sprache verstehen! Ich bin nicht mehr allein und habe viel Platz zum Rumhoppeln! So gut es eben geht mit meinem Humpelbeinchen. Allerdings wird es für die Tierhilfe Weidenberg natürlich auch eine ganz schöne Stange Geld kosten, weil ich ja für immer dort bleiben werde und wenn ich mal krank bin, müssen sie mich zu einem Tierarzt bringen. Aber hey, vielleicht mag ja jemand von Euch da draußen mein Pate werden und die netten Leute ein bißchen unterstützen, damit ich auch weiter gut versorgt bin? Natürlich weiß ich, dass sie immer alles für mich tun werden, doch wäre es halt leichter, wenn noch jemand mit hilft. Also, Du da draußen, den ich nicht sehe, magst Du Pate von mir, der charmanten Bella werden?“
