Adopt Pepsi

Male

Now we are already in the 2nd quarter of 2021, and still, there is no end to the Corona crisis in sight. On the contrary, the infection situation remains critical, and new regulations and restrictions must be continuously implemented to get the pandemic under control. For us, this means that it will not be possible to travel to Sardinia in the coming weeks - perhaps even months - to visit our partners and meet newcomers. Italy is still classified as a risk area, and a lockdown has just been imposed on Sardinia, which will last at least until the end of April. We hope that it will still be possible to take care of the abandoned animals. At the moment, it is still working to some extent, as new strays keep arriving at the Rifugio of LIDA in Olbia, or animals are taken in from private individuals. This tomcat was also very lucky: he was found in very poor condition in a small village near Olbia. The tomcat must have been in terrible pain, as a piece of metal - presumably from a can - had wrapped around a tooth and bored into the gum and jaw. We are glad and grateful that the tomcat, who was given the name Pepsi, was taken in at the Rifugio of LIDA and could be helped. He was immediately operated on, everything went well, the piece of metal could be removed, and the large wound was closed properly. In the meantime, Pepsi has recovered well. He is a very lovable, friendly tomcat who enjoys being petted and spoken to kindly. Unfortunately, the staff at the Rifugio simply do not have enough time to devote more attention to all the cats and dogs. Therefore, Pepsi should leave his cage life behind as soon as possible and be able to travel to Germany. Pepsi has arrived in his German foster home. Now he just needs a loving forever home.

About Pepsi

What life with Pepsi looks like

Pepsi is a large adult cat waiting at ProTier e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pepsi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pepsi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ProTier e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pepsi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pepsi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ProTier e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pepsi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pepsi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ProTier e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pepsi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
