Sina

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 6 years

Sina – a proud soul looking for trust. Sina is a beautiful, large female dog whose past remains hidden from us. We don't know what she has experienced - only that she spent the last two years with an older woman who now must part with her sadly, because a serious illness makes it impossible for her to care for Sina any longer. For Sina this means a deep cut, which she did not choose. Sina is an intelligent and confident female dog. She needs clear structures from the beginning and a sovereign primary caregiver who shows her where her place is. Once she has this orientation, she learns quickly and happily. She wants to be guided and looks for someone she can trust - and that is where her great potential lies. In the right hands, Sina can become an incredibly loyal, obedient and reliable companion. She bonds closely with her people and blossoms when given security. People with time, dog experience and a large garden would be ideal for her. Young children should not live in the household; older, stable children who know how to handle dogs are, however, a good possibility. Sina is waiting for people who not only give her a home, but also stability, guidance and trust - then she will give back everything that is in her. Whoever gives Sina this chance will not get a "perfect" female dog, but a true friend for life. The animals are described as they behave in the animal shelter or foster home. This behavior does not show up immediately upon arrival. Some react with initial shyness to the new situation. Animals from the animal shelter all have a past, which was often not nice or even cruel. This past cannot be shaken off overnight. They need time to be allowed to arrive and to build trust. Please be patient and give your animal the necessary time!

About Sina

What life with Sina looks like

Sina is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina in Berlin.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Aegean Dogs e.V. / FAZA Aegina early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
