Tim

Dachshund · Male · Young · 2 years

19-10-26 Tim has come to us after being seized by the police for welfare reasons, arriving at Many Tears alongside six puppies and their mum. We cannot imagine what this sweet boy has been through, but despite everything, Tim has remained the most affectionate and loving boy. Tim is an absolute sweetheart. When he first arrived, he could initially be worried by new people, but he has well and truly come out of his shell and now adores attention and loves nothing more than having fuss. He is very generous with his kisses and will happily soak up all the fuss you have to offer. His gentle, loving nature makes it hard not to fall completely in love with him, and we desperately want to see him experience the happy life he so deserves. Tim is a confident boy who could happily be homed as an only dog, provided his adopters are around for most of the day and he isn't left alone for long periods. At the moment he finds other dogs quite overwhelming, so would prefer to be homed as an only dog. We would consider homing him with dog savvy teenagers 16+. He is so much fun to spend time with and you'll often find him running around with a toy in his mouth, proudly bringing all of his toys over to show you. He loves to visit the play yard to run around and play in and he also walks beautifully on the lead and will enjoy going on walks and adventures with his new family. He has lived in a home before, so he may already be house trained, although we cannot guarantee this and he may need some reminders as he settles into his new home. He would love to find adopters who have plenty of time to spend with him and will offer him the love, attention and enrichment he deserves. He has so much love to give and we know that the family who gives him the chance will be rewarded with a truly special companion.

About Tim

What life with Tim looks like

Tim is a young adult dachshund dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tim, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tim?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tim on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tim if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Tim already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tim isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tim and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
