Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

mixed breed born 02/2024 about 34cm tall Compatible with: male dogs and female dogs Cats and children not yet tested Vivy is a small, young female dog who immediately captures hearts with her cute face and open gaze. Her handsome black-brown fur, little beard, and curious eyes give her a special charm – one of those female dogs that you just can’t help but smile at when you look at her. At the moment, Vivy lives with our friends at an animal shelter in Portugal. Despite the unfamiliar surroundings, she has shown herself to be a friendly and open little lady there. She greets people lovingly and with interest, and also gets along well with other dogs. She seems to enjoy being social and appreciates attention and affection. Vivy is still young and has her whole life ahead of her. Inside her lies this joyful mix of curiosity, joie de vivre, and tenderness. She would love to discover the world – together with her people, on walks, little adventures, and cozy moments at home. Due to her manageable size, she can easily fit into various living situations and become a wonderful companion in everyday life. It's easy to imagine how she rolls happily into her dog bed at night after a day full of impressions and closeness. Vivy wants to belong, be loved, and finally experience what it feels like to have a real home. Who falls in love with this sweet little female dog and gives Vivy the chance for a life full of security and shared moments? Vivy is, of course, microchipped, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, registered, and has been checked out by a veterinarian as part of her travel arrangements. Additionally, she has been tested for Mediterranean diseases and will bring an EU vaccination passport to her new home. We have put all the pictures we have of Vivy together into a slideshow above on the page. Just take your time to look through the images, or click on them to see the next picture. Contact:

About Vivy

What life with Vivy looks like

Vivy is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hoffnungsvolle Tierherzen e.V. in Essingen.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Vivy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Vivy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hoffnungsvolle Tierherzen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Vivy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Vivy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hoffnungsvolle Tierherzen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Vivy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Vivy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hoffnungsvolle Tierherzen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Vivy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
