Adopt Yori

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 3 years

Yorkshire Terrier – mixed breed born 01/2022 approximately 35cm tall Compatible with: male dogs, female dogs and cats Children have not yet been tested Yori is a small Yorkshire Terrier-mixed breed dog, who immediately wins hearts with his fluffy coat and alert eyes. He still carries a bit of caution learned during his time on the streets – a quiet reserve towards new situations, a moment of observing before he feels comfortable. But it is precisely this that makes him unique: Yori takes the time he needs, and when he realizes people mean well, he opens his heart in an incredibly affectionate way. At our friends' animal shelter in Spain, he has shown himself to be compatible with other dogs and also meets cats calmly. He is not one to push himself loudly into the foreground – rather, he is the little, fine companion who stands quietly beside you, looks at you, and gradually builds trust. And once this moment arrives, when the ice is broken, Yori shows himself as friendly, kind, and very affectionate, enjoying closeness and simply wanting to belong. His past has made him cautious, but not closed off. Behind his gentle reserve lies a loyal heart yearning for a safe home – for people who meet him with patience and show him how beautiful a protected life can be. Then he will surely become a cheerful, loyal companion who brings a smile to your face more each day. Who will give this brave little treasure the time he needs to settle in – and receive in return a friend for life? Yori is, of course, microchipped, vaccinated, neutered, registered, and has been checked by a veterinarian. Additionally, he has been tested for Mediterranean diseases and brings an EU vaccination passport to his new home. We have put together all the pictures we have of Yori into a slideshow above on the page. Take your time to look through the images, or click on them to view the next picture. Contact:

Yorkshire Terrier – Mischling geb. Kontakt: Julia Streitl 01 77 – 21 16 44 7

About Yori

What life with Yori looks like

Yori is a small young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hoffnungsvolle Tierherzen e.V. in Essingen.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Yori, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Yori?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hoffnungsvolle Tierherzen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Yori on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Yori if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hoffnungsvolle Tierherzen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Yori already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Yori isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hoffnungsvolle Tierherzen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Yori and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
