Lapo e Matelda

Mixed Breed · Male · Kitten

Two lovely striped kittens, each with unique characteristics. Lapo, the male (pictured left), has a slender build and is completely striped; his sister Matelda (right), with softer features, sports a thick striped coat embellished with a large white patch on her chest and elegant white paws. They are vaccinated, microchipped, and have undergone anti-parasite treatments. They have not yet been tested for FIV and FeLV. Temperament: These two sweet kittens are still a bit shy, but they are making great progress. When they arrived at the shelter, they were very scared; thanks to the patient work of the staff and volunteers, they are learning day by day to trust people and face their surroundings with greater serenity. They are still cautious and easily impressionable, but they are gaining more confidence and trust every day. With time and in a quiet environment, they will be able to continue this beautiful growth path, revealing more and more their sweet personality. Ideal adoption: We are looking for a quiet and stable environment and a couple adoption for Lapo and Matelda, so they can continue to grow together and maintain the strong bond that unites them. It will also be important to continue the socialization process already successfully started at the shelter. Given their young age, they need a family that is present, willing to devote time, attention, and many opportunities for play, essential elements for their well-being and balanced growth. At the same time, they must be able to count on moments of tranquility and rest, during which they feel safe and not disturbed. They can also be suitable for people who are new to having a cat, as long as they are aware of the commitment required to care for two young kittens still in the process of gaining trust in people. In the presence of children, we would prefer a family with older children, as sudden movements, lively games, or very loud voices could intimidate them. In any case, it is important that children and teenagers are respectful, gentle, and adequately supervised by adults, so as to guarantee the two kittens serenity and safety. The possibility of accessing a garden in the future would be an added value, provided that the exit to the outside only takes place after sterilization and once the necessary territorial and relational reference points have been consolidated. Adoptable exclusively in the province of Monza and Brianza and in the strictly adjacent municipalities. Origin: Found in Concorezzo (MB), in via Dante Alighieri. Hence the choice of their names, which recall the world of Dante. But, beyond literature, Lapo and Matelda are two delicate kittens, looking for someone to write the happy ending of their story with them.

IT·Show original

Provenienza: Trovati a Concorezzo (MB), in via Dante Alighieri.

About Lapo e Matelda

What life with Lapo e Matelda looks like

Lapo e Matelda is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at ENPA Monza e Brianza in Monza.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇮🇹Adopting from Italy

Italian canili require adopters to sign a stewardship contract (affido) and may retain the right to verify the animal's wellbeing post-adoption. Animals are chipped and sterilized before leaving (Legge 281/91). Public canili rifugio typically waive adoption fees.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lapo e Matelda, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lapo e Matelda?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ENPA Monza e Brianza handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lapo e Matelda on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lapo e Matelda if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ENPA Monza e Brianza will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lapo e Matelda already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lapo e Matelda isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ENPA Monza e Brianza early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lapo e Matelda and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (IT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
