Adopt Lori

German Shepherd · Female · Young · 2 years

30.03.2026 Lori had a wonderful appearance on the animal show. She is such a wonderful female dog; who will discover the loyal and affectionate Lori and give her a forever home? Watch how well Lori did. It just warms your heart, doesn't it? animal-Beitrag from Lori 01.11.2025 In the meantime, Lori is in private foster care and she was able to relax wonderfully. Cars and bicycles are no longer an issue, and her encounters with fellow animals are already more relaxed. The family has been practicing a lot with her, and you can see the positive results. Lori is ready for her forever home! Here is a wonderful video of the playful Lori: Playing Lori 21.09.2025 Lori is a very affectionate and attentive female dog. She has a lot of power and wants to be adequately occupied every day. This was the reason why her previous owner gave her up. Fellow animals still meet Lori very energetically and more dominantly. In the animal shelter, she shares the enclosure with a large male Pitbull dog, and she also sets the tone there. For this reason, she would like to be an individual princess in her new home without other animals. For Lori, we wish for a home in the countryside without much traffic. When she first came to us, she tried to chase cars and bicycles, but we have already built alternative behavior and are working with distance, which works well. For the active and dog-experienced female dog, we wish for active and dog-experienced people, or a corresponding family with children from teenage age, who already know how to handle dogs. Your new people can look forward to an exciting time together. A young dog needs sufficient mental stimulation, so there must be enough time and space for the new family member. Lori is microchipped, fully vaccinated (rabies and combo shot), and neutered. Would you like to meet our affectionate Lori? Then we look forward to your message. 17.08.2025 Welcome to Switzerland, dear Lori. We are very happy to support the affectionate Lori in finding the right people who will never let her down. We will report back in a few days about Lori. 09.06.2025 Lori is a young, friendly female dog who currently lives in an apartment. A new home is being sought for her – a place where she can stay permanently. She is very clingy with people. In dealing with other dogs, she has a more dominant demeanor. Age-appropriate, she is active, curious, and full of energy. Whoever can give Lori a stable environment will get a loyal and lively companion by her side. This animal was surrendered to the shelter.

About Lori

What life with Lori looks like

Lori is a young adult german shepherd dog waiting at Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten in Arme Pfoten.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Lori, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Lori?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Lori on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Lori if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Lori already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Lori isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Arme Pfoten early rather than rehoming privately; they know Lori and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
