Hi there! I'm Sir Gwaine. And before you think! What a tough guy… well… I am quite the doubter. Okay, maybe a big doubter. I'll just come out and say it. I didn't have the best start. My previous masters weren't exactly stars in dog care… let's say we were more of a "side job." Luckily, I'm now at DOA and they say my life is finally just beginning. Sounds good, right? I'm still getting used to it. New people? SPLENDID. Really, I have a whole system for it. Step 1: Keep your distance. Step 2: I'll examine you closely, like a detective. Step 3: When you crouch down… okay, then I'll come over to sniff. And if you approve (yes, that really does happen), then I'll come over for a friendly pet. But uh… as soon as you pet me, I think to myself: "OH HELP WHAT'S HAPPENING NOW?!" I want it very much, really… but my head and my heart aren't always in agreement. Toys? Balls? Frisbees? I have no idea what you're talking about. Seriously. I used to only play with my family. But once I get to know you, huh… my inner clown comes out. I'll spring from a distance, act silly, make play bows as if auditioning for "Holland's Got Talent: Dog Edition." Play rough? No way, joh, keep it calm. I'm more into "look how cool I can act from here." In short: I'm a sweet, sensitive, and a bit clumsy boy who just needs to learn how everything works. Hoi jij! Ik ben Sir Gwaine. En voordat je denkt! Wat een stoere gast… nou… ik ben dus ook een beetje een twijfelaar. Oké, best wel een grote twijfelaar. Ik zal het maar meteen eerlijk zeggen. Ik heb niet zo’n topstart gehad. Mijn vorige baasjes waren niet echt sterren in het zorgen voor honden… laten we zeggen dat wij meer een soort “bijzaak” waren. Gelukkig ben ik nu bij DOA en daar zeggen ze dat mijn leven nu pas echt begint. Klinkt goed toch? Ik ben het nog een beetje aan het uitvogelen. Nieuwe mensen? SPANNEND. Echt, ik heb daar een heel systeem voor. Stap 1: op afstandje blijven️‍. Stap 2: jou heel aandachtig bekijken alsof ik een detective ben. Stap 3: als jij door je hurken gaat… oké vooruit, dan kom ik even snuffelen. En als je goedgekeurd bent (ja, dat gebeurt dus echt), dan kom ik gezellig bij je voor een aai. Maar eh… zodra je me aait denk ik ook weer: “OH HELP WAT GEBEURT ER NU?!” Ik wil het heel graag, echt waar… maar mijn hoofd en mijn hart zijn het soms nog niet helemaal eens️. Speelgoed? Balletjes? Flossen? Geen idee waar je het over hebt. Serieus. Ik heb vroeger alleen met mijn familie gespeeld. Maar als ik je eenmaal ken hè… dan komt mijn innerlijke clown naar boven. Dan ga ik op een afstandje springen, gek doen, spelbogen maken alsof ik auditie doe voor “Holland’s Got Talent: Hondeditie”. Echt stoeien? Nee joh, rustig aan. Ik ben meer van het “kijk mij eens leuk doen vanaf hier”. Kortom: ik ben een lieve, gevoelige en een tikkeltje onhandige jongen die gewoon nog moet leren hoe alles werkt.
