Adopt Sissi und Zora (FiV+)

European Shorthair · Female

Sissi will be rehomed with a permanent care contract. Gender: both are spayed and microchipped: yes Age: born around 2022-2024 Color/Fur: red-white (Sissi) and red (Zora) Desired living arrangement: only together, suitable for apartment living The two FIV-positive cats got to know each other at our cat shelter and quickly realized how well they complement each other. While Sissi is an open, loving, and approachable cat who enjoys cuddles, Zora is currently more shy and cautious. But together, the two provide each other with security, which is why we only want to rehome them together. As both are FIV-positive, they are looking for a home that is purely suitable for apartment living, preferably with a secured balcony. FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) is an immune deficiency in cats that is not transmissible to humans or other animal species. Many FIV-positive cats can still enjoy many happy years with good care. Sissi was unfortunately also diagnosed with FIP. However, the therapy is going very well, and she is developing positively. She currently still needs medication in tablet form over a longer period. Therefore, Sissi will be rehomed on a permanent care contract. The medication will continue to be provided by the organization, and veterinary visits will take place after consultation with the organization. For Sissi and Zora, we wish quiet, loving people with patience and heart who will give the two the time to settle in and build further trust. Zora is particularly oriented towards Sissi – and together, the two are simply a small, special team. If you would like to meet the two lovely cats, please arrange a meeting with us in advance. We can also inform you in a personal conversation about FIV and FIP.

About Sissi und Zora (FiV+)

What life with Sissi und Zora (FiV+) looks like

Sissi und Zora (FiV+) is a small adult european shorthair cat waiting at Verein der Katzenfreunde e.V. in St. Ingbert.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Sissi und Zora (FiV+), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Sissi und Zora (FiV+)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Verein der Katzenfreunde e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Sissi und Zora (FiV+) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Sissi und Zora (FiV+) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Verein der Katzenfreunde e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Sissi und Zora (FiV+) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Sissi und Zora (FiV+) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Verein der Katzenfreunde e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Sissi und Zora (FiV+) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
