Zipo

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Hello, my name is Zipo. I'm new here. They asked me to introduce myself to everyone and share my story so that you can get to know me. Well, I'll start by saying that I'm one and a half years old and that before, I wasn't called Zipo. This is my new name because now I have a new life. I had a family not too long ago. I don't know if it was better or worse than others, but it was my family and I loved them. I had a furry companion, some parents, and even a grandmother. My parents would often scold me, saying I wasn't well-behaved, that I was annoying… I spent a lot of time in a backyard where I couldn't run or jump. All I wanted was to play and show that I could be a good boy. No one taught me how to play or how to behave, so I did what I thought was right. All I got were more scoldings, reprimands, and my parents' anger. That made me feel insecure, scared, and distrustful, and it only made the situation worse. Then the baby came. My parents had less time for me, and I felt alone like never before. I was angry with the world, and the world was angry with me. All I wanted was to be loved, but I didn't get it. One day, they took all my toys, put them in the car trunk, and took me with them. They left me at the animal shelter, closed the door, and didn't look back. It was very painful. They had abandoned me. I was scared. Sad. And surrounded by unfamiliar dogs and people. I didn't leave my kennel and showed my teeth to anyone who came near. Slowly, I started to trust the people at the animal shelter. They call them volunteers. I also made some furry friends. Here, they don't scold me or get angry with me all the time. I go for walks, and they give me hot dogs! Thank you for listening to my story, and I hope the Wise Men bring me a family that won't scold me and love me very, very much. Call, ask, adopt:

Hola me llamo Zipo. Me habían abandonado. Estaba asustado. Triste. Llama, pregunta, adopta:

About Zipo

What life with Zipo looks like

Zipo is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Aloia Protectora in Tui.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zipo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zipo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Aloia Protectora handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zipo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zipo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Aloia Protectora will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zipo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zipo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Aloia Protectora early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zipo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
