Zsadan

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 4 years

Zsadan and Zsadanyka, two enchanting Hungarian dogs, arrived at the Kecskemét animal shelter on August 8, 2026, from Tápiószele. Their past is unknown, but they were not microchipped despite the mandatory chip requirement in Hungary since January 1, 2013. No one reported them missing. Perhaps it's for the best, as Zsadan and Zsadanyka deserve people who care for them, love them, and provide them with attention and support. Zsadan and Zsadanyka do not need to be paired together. Currently, Zsadan is feeling lost in the shelter, understandably, due to the noise, chaos, and stress of being confined. He deserves the utmost respect. However, he is a loving, gentle, and friendly dog who is initially shy until he gets to know you and realizes you have good intentions. He may have had unpleasant experiences and was not always welcome, on his search for food and help. Zsadan would love to have his own people with whom he can explore, patient humans who give him stability, guidance, and structure, and offer him a safe haven. He loves petting and enjoys when you give him time and attention, as he has a lot of catching up to do. He needs protection, closeness, and a lot of love. His new people should enjoy teaching him the necessary dog basics so he can continue to develop into a great companion, but he is a clever boy and will quickly understand what you want from him. Zsadan gets along well with his fellow dogs and is currently (September 22, 2026) being integrated into a mixed pack. Our dearest Zsadan longs for a safe home with empathetic and loving people he can trust and who can give him the security, care, love, and safety he so desperately seeks. A soft bed, plenty of pets, nice walks, dog-friendly exercise, and his own people who will never leave him behind, and Zsadan can finally enjoy a dignified and carefree life. Who will go through thick and thin with Zsadan? Zsadan had bald spots on his legs and snout when he arrived at the shelter, but his fur is slowly growing back. Zsadan can travel around the end of September/beginning of October 2026 if he finds a home or foster family.

About Zsadan

What life with Zsadan looks like

Zsadan is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Zsadan, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Zsadan?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Zsadan on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Zsadan if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Zsadan already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Zsadan isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Zsadan and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
