Neo – Ein Microchip bringt das Glück zurück

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 9 years

Neo Our tomcat Neo came to us in March 2012 when he was just over a year old. We adopted him from the animal shelter and he was so shy that he didn't dare approach us for many days. After we were allowed to pet him for the first time, the ice was broken and he became an extremely people-oriented, affectionate tomcat who also enjoyed his free roaming in the fields and woods behind our house. He got along well with Betty, our other cat, after initial skepticism. Then we moved in September 2017, and for Neo it was dreadful that he could no longer go out, so he cried pitifully all night long and moaned. Therefore, after about two weeks we took pity on them and let both cats out again. We knew this was very risky and actually too early. At that time, however, our cat flap had not yet been installed, so the cats were always let in and out through the terrace door, which worked quite well. But then Betty did not come home. She was missing for nine whole days and we were sick with worry. We searched everywhere, asked around in the neighborhood and put up lost posters. Suddenly she was back one evening in front of the door. It seemed she had been trapped somewhere. She was fine, just quite scared. However, the joy did not last long, because only five days later, the day before the fourth birthday of our twins, Neo did not return home. Again we started our search, but unlike Betty, Neo was not registered with TASSO. I felt terrible guilt for not having done this long ago. Due to the moving chaos, I couldn't find the vaccination record with the microchip number. Our veterinarian couldn't help us either. A few days later I found the record, registered Neo and reported him missing. All searching was in vain. No one had seen him since that evening. The grief over him was endless and we missed Neo terribly.

How do I contact the shelter about Neo – Ein Microchip bringt das Glück zurück?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierhilfe Weidenberg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Neo – Ein Microchip bringt das Glück zurück on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Neo – Ein Microchip bringt das Glück zurück if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierhilfe Weidenberg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Neo – Ein Microchip bringt das Glück zurück already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Neo – Ein Microchip bringt das Glück zurück isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierhilfe Weidenberg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Neo – Ein Microchip bringt das Glück zurück and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
