Pimpero

Male · Senior · 12 years

Pimpero lost his home and although he doesn't understand human decisions, one thing he still understands perfectly, how much he needs a person. He was left at the animal shelter because no one came back for him. All that's left for him is his name. We don't know why. It's really hard to understand when you meet Pimpero even for a moment. Because he is one of those dogs that quietly enter the heart... and stay there. He is very delicate and sensitive. He still trembles a bit with emotion, especially on walks. Then he would rather walk right next to your leg, as if afraid to go even a step away. Every now and then he looks up, searching for our gaze. As if asking: "Are you there? Are you coming with me?" This contact gives him a sense of security that he so desperately needs right now. And when he returns to his kennel, he immediately jumps onto your knees. He hugs you with his little body, as if wanting to forget for a moment that there are bars around him. Pimpero doesn't need much. A warm corner. Quiet walks. And a person by whose side he can walk close, without fear. He is a beautiful, gentle, older dog. One who loves with all his heart and truly deserves to feel what it is like to have a home. Maybe someone will look into his eyes and say: "Come Pimpero, you're already home."

PL·Show original

To przecudny, łagodny, starszy psiak.

About Pimpero

What life with Pimpero looks like

Pimpero is a small senior dog waiting at Schronisko Na Paluchu in Warsaw.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Note from the shelter: Emotional trauma from abandonment, needs patient owner to build trust and confidence

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Pimpero, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Pimpero?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Na Paluchu handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Pimpero on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Pimpero if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Na Paluchu will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Pimpero already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Pimpero isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Na Paluchu early rather than rehoming privately; they know Pimpero and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
