Kambra

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Hello, my name is Kambra. I am a few-year-old, large sheepdog-type. On March 9, 2026, I was tied to the fence of an animal shelter — my owner didn't have the courage to enter the office. I was very scared and restless then, and I had a rusty collar around my neck. Now I am slowly recovering and learning a new life. I got a new collar, although at first I didn't want anyone to touch me around my neck. I am a bit shy, and it will probably take some time before I fully trust humans again — but I am really trying. I like my new caregiver, although it's not yet great love. We go for walks together, and she is teaching me how to better handle my emotions. I don't particularly like other dogs and prefer to stay away from them. The hardest moments are after walks — I really don't like returning alone to my crate, so I try to keep my caregiver with me. Unfortunately, she is cleverer, and then I get a bit upset. They say we will work on that yet. When it comes to strangers, I can show my teeth — just as a principle, not to do any harm. Recently I was vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped — I was very brave! Soon I will also have spaying, although I still don't quite know what that means. There is a lot ahead of me, but I believe I can do it. I hope soon someone will find me and love me forever.

Dostałam nową obrożę, choć początkowo nie chciałam, by ktoś dotykał mnie w okolicach szyi.

About Kambra

What life with Kambra looks like

Kambra is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Zabrze in Zabrze.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Kambra, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Kambra?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Zabrze handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Kambra on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Kambra if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Zabrze will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Kambra already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Kambra isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Zabrze early rather than rehoming privately; they know Kambra and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
