In 2016, a four-year-old Julie was brought to the shelter by her owner - a white-muzzled man who could no longer cope with the four-year-old active dog. The dog turned out to be nervous: she always walked only on a short leash, and was physically affected by every noise. Julie "settled" in the shelter, reaching senior age. Indeed, her enthusiasm and activity have not diminished in the slightest. Last summer, a family came to the shelter specifically to meet Julie. We waited in hope. Listening to the family's answers to our questions - why they chose Julie specifically, what experience they had with dogs, that her age didn't scare them, that they were willing to work with a trainer - we were overwhelmed with hope. Unfortunately, in the large family there were already a couple of dogs and other pets, as is usual in a country house. As the years passed and Julie spent each day in the company of well-fed fellow breeds, she refuses to accept any other barking dogs. Not one at all. Neither big nor small, neither young nor old. Thus, the offer of a home for Julie was withdrawn... Fortunately, the family took another dog from our shelter - Dachuk, who due to lack of socialization could have "settled" in the shelter for many years, but now the owners have transformed the little bark into a wonderful dog. Honestly, we don't expect to place Julie again - she needs medication to control her urine every day, and also has had a few growths surgically removed. Indeed, miracles can happen... In her black and white coat, now with gray, the dog may fall into someone's heart, come visit her! Julie would be very happy! If you want to help us care for Julie in a "Good Home", we will be grateful for high-quality food intended for seniors, as well as financial support for the dog's medications - on average 40-50 Euros per month.

Tālajā 2016. gadā tolaik četrus gadus veco Džūliju uz patversmi atveda viņas īpašnieks – sirmgalvis, kurš vairs netika galā ar četrus gadus veco aktīvisti. Sunīte izrādījās nervoza: vienmēr staigājusi tikai īsā pavadiņā, par katru aušību fiziski ietekmēta. Džūlija patversmē “iesēdās”, sasniedzot seniora vecumu. Tiesa, viņas dzīvesprieks un aktivitāte ne par mata tiesu nav gājuši mazumā. Aizvadītajā vasarā kāda ģimene ieradās patversmē tieši ar vēlmi iepazīties ar Džūliju. Mēs laimes gaidās sastingām. Klausoties ģimenes atbildēs uz mūsu jautājumiem – kāpēc viņi noskatījuši tieši Džūliju, kāda pieredze ar suņiem, ka nebiedē viņas vecums, ka gatavi strādāt kopā ar kinologu – mēs reibām cerībā. Diemžēl kuplās ģimenes pulkā jau mita pāris suņu un citi mājdzīvnieki, kā jau lauku saimniecībā. Džūlija, gadiem ritot un ikdienu vadot piesātinātā sugasbrāļu vidē, citus rējējus atsakās pieņemt. Nevienu pašu. Ne lielu, ne mazu, ne jaunu, ne vecu. Tā mājas piedāvājums Džūlijai atcēlās…Par laimi, ģimene no mūsmājām aizveda citu sunīti – Dačuku, kura socializācijas iztrūkuma dēļ patversmē varētu “iesēsties” arī uz daudziem gariem gadiem, bet tagad saimnieki rējējiņu pārvērtuši burvīgā sunī. Ja godīgi, mēs neceram Džūliju vairs iekārtot – viņai ik dienu jālieto zāles pret urīna nesaturēšanu, izoperēti arī pāris jaunveidojumi. Tiesa, brīnumi mēdz notikt…Ja melnbaltā, nu jau ar sirmumu kažokā, sunīte iekrīt kādā sirdī, brauciet pie viņas ciemos! Džūlija par to tikai priecāsies!
